I have experience with dogs, cats, ferrets, hedge hogs, hamsters, and a parakeet. As far as dogs go, I do have lots of reactive dog experience but it's very very important for me to emphasize that I can't always take every reactive dog. I understand what a commitment it is and it would be a disservice of me to believe that I'm the right fit for every dog because that's just not possible. If your dog is reactive and weighs more than 80lbs, I ask that you find a better suited rover only because I am only 5'4" and weigh about 120lbs, and when a dog is in a reactive state due to fear or discomfort their strength can outdo mine by far. I would rather turn down these dogs then possibly be put in a position where your pet, myself, or others could be at risk. You should only entrust someone who is absolutely confident in their handling skills if that is the type of dog that you have. Outside of that, I am happy to take all other clientele! I work with lots of senior dogs too and can admit medication by mouth if needed including an inhaler for dogs or cats. I have had personal experience with dogs since I was little and my family always had a rescue dog. My first cat was adopted in 2018 and that has forever changed my life! I could never choose which specie I love more because in my eyes they are just so incomparable. After spending most of my professional career in fintech and being laid off recently, I decided I wanted to focus on work that allowed me to have a better life to work balance and Rover has allowed me to do that! I've done Rover full time since 2023 and now currently work part-time so I still have some flexibility to work with pets during the week! My current schedule is that I am in office Mondays and Thursdays so I can assist with pet needs on all other days! I have 3 pets of my own. Ava & Ivy are my rescue kitties! Milly is my soul dog! Milly is very well behaved and has a very chill and independent temperament. She is very used to cats and dogs and mainly just minds her business. Our cats are also very socialized with dogs. Another thing to note before booking -- I currently opened my home to my brother who also has two cats so for full disclosure, I do have a full house of cats! His two cats are very sweet and energetic so I am only approving dogs that are well behaved around feline friends. Their safety is above all else and I will not accept the booking otherwise. They do like to greet newcomers and love dogs so they will try to play or cuddle with any dog they come across, just FYI!
