Pet care experience
Animal loving home looking to help!
I've had animals a part of my life for 30 years, when I moved out I quickly started getting my own. We have fostered cats and dogs for almost 10 years and in that time have had mom and kittens, puppies (8 months and older), senior dogs, 3 legged dogs, extremely nervous dogs and the list goes on! We both work 8 hour work days and then come home so ideally the dog is comfortable with a longer stay alone without a bathroom break etc. Free feeding is not possible in our home with the resident cats and dog eating food as soon as it's set down. We can however put down the bowl more frequently throughout the day for a limited time to give them the chance.

Safety, trust & environment
Having fostered many different types of dogs, safety features have been added wherever we can think of. This includes a fully fenced 5ft high wire fence with 3 gates total in the backyard; one side is always locked and the other side has a double gate setup to ensure safety for coming in and out. Our back deck has a gate on it so we can always check the fence gates are still shut properly before letting them out. The front deck also has a gate on it for safety. We have a split entry home and the top of the stairs has a gate as well. Our animals/fosters are part of our family and are allowed to sleep wherever they like and be on any furniture. We can crate a dog if that is the preference but if they are not destructive then they are welcome to have free reign of the house if we are out.
Ratings and reviews
Kristina and Michael have taken care of our cat for the second summer in a row during a vacation week, and we’re so pleased with their care and communication.

They are always so responsive and understanding and take incredible care of my elderly cat!

Kristina & Michael went above & beyond when our flights got cancelled and trip extended...they extended their services and got in to top up everything for my cat once more before we returned home - in a snowstorm!! So grateful they were able to do this and take this worry off my mind in a stressful situation.
Kristina and Michael were great and went above and beyond to ensure everything was taken care of.
We always feel safe having Kristina and Michael take care of our cats. They take a great care of them and our cats LOVE them.

We had a great experience with Kristina and Michael. They were very reliable and did exactly what was requested.

Schedule
We rely more heavily on the fenced yard for higher energy dogs, our resident dog loves to play with other dogs but a very high energy dog may not be best suited in our home. We have both done several classes of obedience and confidence training with our personal dogs so we can always work on some basic tricks and skills!
- Cats0 to 15 lbs16 to 40 lbs41 to 100 lbsover 101 lbsDogs over 1 year oldKristina & Michael can host up to 1 drop-in per day
- Please let me know ahead of time your dog's energy level, level of housetraining, if destructive at all and how they are with other dogs (40lbs resident male dog), cats and young kids (the dog would never be left unattended with my child). Our dog does much better with initial introductions with other dogs if they are calmer, respectful and it is done slowly. To ensure the best success we like to get the dogs together some time before the boarding for a little walk (not interacting so they can get the first excitement, smells etc. In) then a play in the fenced yard, maybe 20 minutes total, just to make sure they get along.
