I’m currently a psychology student at UCLA, working toward a future career in nursing. As an upperclassman, I have a flexible and well-managed schedule that allows me to dedicate consistent, focused time to pet care throughout the week. Because of my academic path and healthcare goals, I’m naturally attentive, detail oriented, and responsible, qualities that carry directly into how I care for animals. I’m also a medically retired UCLA student-athlete, so staying active is still an important part of my routine. Dog walks, playtime, and outdoor time are just as beneficial for me as they are for the pets in my care. I genuinely enjoy incorporating movement, structure, and engagement into my day. Pet care fits seamlessly into my lifestyle, it’s something I prioritize, not something I squeeze in

Whether I’m caring for pets in my client’s home or hosting them in mine, I maintain a clean, structured, and low stress environment. I carefully follow feeding schedules, medication instructions, exercise routines, and any house rules provided so your pet’s routine stays consistent and comfortable. I’m highly attentive to behavior changes, eating habits, energy levels, and overall wellbeing. In a client’s home, I’m respectful, organized, and treat the space with the same care I would expect in my own. Doors are always double checked, gates secured, and pets are never left in unsafe situations. For walks and outdoor time, I prioritize leash safety, awareness of surroundings, and avoiding unsafe interactions. Your pet’s comfort and security always come first. I believe trust is earned through consistency, communication, and genuine care, and I take that responsibility seriously!

Every pet is different, and understanding them ahead of time ensures they feel comfortable, loved, and stress free while in my care!
A typical day
Each day is tailored to your pet’s needs, energy level, and personality. For dogs, we’ll enjoy walks around nearby parks, playtime in safe outdoor spaces, and plenty of cuddle or quiet time at home. I love incorporating enrichment activities like fetch, gentle training, or interactive toys to keep them mentally stimulated. For cats, I provide cozy spots for lounging, interactive play with wand toys, and lots of gentle attention. I make sure their environment is calm, secure, and predictable so they feel comfortable and stress free. No matter the species, I prioritize routine, fun, and companionship, keeping pets active, happy, and loved while you’re away.

Pet care experience
I’ve been around animals my entire life. I grew up around farms and cared for horses, goats, chickens, you name it, so I understand that animals aren’t just pets, they’re daily responsibilities that require attentiveness, structure, and genuine care. In my home, animals were always treated and viewed as family members. This mindset shapes how I care for every pet I work with, involving patience, respect, and love. I began dog and cat sitting in my community at around 13 years old, building trust with families who relied on me to care for their pets while they were away. My neighnors are also Boxer breeders, I got the oppertunity to care for litters since their birth. Because of my background, I’m comfortable with young or senior aged pets, low to high-maintenance care routines, feeding schedules, administering basic medications, and recognizing changes in behavior that may signal stress or health issues. What sets me apart is that I don’t just “watch” animals, I pay attention to them. Their energy, their habits, their comfort levels. I understand that every pet is different, and I adjust my care to meet their individual needs. To me, animals aren’t just companions, instead, they’re lifelong friends and gifts. And I treat them that way!

Reviews
Kirsten has walked my German shepherd for me, she is dependable and attentive to my dog’s needs. She is very sweet, loves animals, and is easy to communicate with. I appreciate her very much and would trust her with all my pets needs including overnight boarding. I will continue to hire Kirsten for all my dog care.
I cannot recommend Kirsten enough as a dog walker. She is incredibly kind, responsible, and genuinely loves animals. She has a natural way and is very attentive and patient towards them. Whether it’s keeling up with an energetic puppy or giving extra care for an older or shy dog Kirsten is full of compassion. Any pet owner would be lucky to have her taking care of their furry family member.
