I am very familiar with anxious and reactive dogs, as well as animals with special needs. Please let me know what to look out for with regard to triggers and situations where your pet needs a little extra patience and tlc!
A typical day
For drop-ins and/or walks, I am happy to feed your pets, take them out to go to the bathroom and walk them wherever you feel comfortable. I will provide affection, attention, enrichment, and will send updates that include photos. If there is anything else you need help with while I'm with your pet, I'm happy to accommodate!

Pet care experience
My childhood home was filled with unconditional love for our rescue animals. As an adult, I've continued adopting pets in need, and have dedicated my life to saving animals and advocating for their care. I am a NYS licensed wildlife rehabilitator and volunteer at two domestic and wildlife clinics. I am well-versed in medication administration, reading body language (especially reactive/anxious animals), and creating a trustworthy environment for your pet to feel relaxed and comfortable. My whole heart belongs to animals. It is difficult for me to be away from my own rescue pets, and through Rover, I have found someone I can truly trust with my beloved family members when I'm away or at work. Through diligent communication, dependability and care, I hope I can be that person for you, so that you will have peace of mind, knowing your pets are safe and well-loved in your absence. 🤍

Kirsten is an exceptional cat sitter. She takes stunning photos -- my whole family has been completely awestruck by the pictures she captured of my cat. Her demeanor is warm and calm, and my shy cat took to her immediately. She follows all instructions carefully and is proactive with updates: if she knows you're anxious about something, you'll hear from her before you ever have to ask. She treats every cat in her care as if they were her own. I cannot recommend her highly enough. You're the best, Kirsten! Thank you for understanding Lady and meeting all her needs. You went above and beyond for us, and we're so grateful.
