About Kerry V.
Communication

Safety, trust & environment
As someone with many years of experience working with preschoolers and disabled children, I am extremely aware of the risk of a stranger caring for your (fur) babies, and I don't take it lightly. For this reason, I require a meet-and-greet before agreeing to provide any service to make sure we are both confident that I can keep your dog safe. My demeanor is gentle, so I'm not the right fit for a dog that pulls or isn't safe around other dogs or unfamiliar people.
Information Kerry V. would like to know about your pet
Before I care for a dog, I like to know their basic daily schedules, and where the dog's things are located in the house. A meet-and-greet with me involves walking me through the dog's needs, and physically walking me through their areas indoor and outside. I like to get a sense of your & the dog's vibes, to make sure our communication styles fit! Day-of, please leave a list of emergency contact information, with owner's and vet info, neighbor's info, and all the info we discussed in our meet and greet, including reminders of the pets food portions and how often pets need to go outside.
A typical day
My visits vary from dog to dog. The basics of a visit are taking the dogs outside, giving them water, feeding them at mealtimes, and giving lots of pets and belly rubs. I'm available to take your dog for walks around your neighborhood and playing in your yard. One of my favorite clients was a lab and a duo of labradoodles who wanted to play fetch with a tennis ball for hours. I also have clients with dogs who don't take walks and just need some human contact while their owners are away, so after I take them outside, we cuddle up on the couch to watch TV. (Cuddles are a must to any of my visits.) I'd like to get to know the dog(s) for a few visits before I'd be comfortable bringing them in close contact with other dogs (i.e. to a dogpark).

Pet care experience
**Brand new to the Boston area as of May 2026, looking to build my roster of pups!* Hi pet owners! I'm a dog and cat sitter with over a decade of experience, available for housesitting (in your home), walking dogs, or checking on pets. I’m just coming back after a break from Rover and a move (brand new to Boston as of May 2026) - eager to meet dogs in the area and build a list of regular clients! I’m comfortable with trained dogs of all sizes. I'm also available to care for dogs who need unique care. (For example, I’ve cared for dogs who are deaf, blind, and elderly.) I am generally comfortable with any dog, as long as they respond to basic commands* (i.e sit, heel, drop, and come) and do not bite* *puppies are the exception to this rule 😊 I love caring for puppies! Please note, there is an additional puppy fee listed in my service rates. --- To book with me, please reach out at least 24 hours in advance, and we'll set up a meet and greet so you, your pups and I can get comfortable with each other. Please note, I charge a $5 fee for requests sent under 48 hours of the requested visit, and a $5/day fee for services over 15 minutes away from my home.
Reviews

Kerry was fantastic! She did such an absolutely lovely job with our houseful of animals. She even sent photos and videos to show how well everyone was doing. Our kids loved the check ins. Kerry put everyone at ease. We highly recommend her. She’s the best!
Kerry is great with my dog.

Kerry did a spectacular job caring for my dogs. I would not hesitate to hire her again or to recommend her to others.

We were fortunate to have Kerry watch our dog Buddy over the weekend. She came over a few days earlier to do a meet and greet and asked great questions about Buddy’s routines and got acquainted with him. Over the weekend she communicated via texts and pictures of his status and asked inquired about his behavior with thunderstorms. I was happy with Kerry’s follow ups and communication. Buddy would love to see her again! This was our first time using River. Overall our experience was great and we plan on using it again.
