I am a student working towards my doctorate in occupational therapy degree so I am pretty flexible between being able to take care of your pet and studying for my boards.

Safety, trust & environment
In a client’s home, I follow the dog’s usual routine closely, making sure they get the same care, love, and attention they’re used to. Safety is always my top priority — I pay close attention to each dog’s body language and needs, and never push them beyond their comfort level. For walks, I avoid hot asphalt to protect their paws, choose safe routes, and make sure they always have access to fresh water and shade. My goal is to ensure every dog feels safe, understood, and cared for, whether we’re at home or out on a walk.

Information Kayla S. would like to know about your pet
Before caring for a pet, I like to know any important medical needs such as medications, allergies, or health conditions, as well as behavioral notes like fears, triggers, or anything that may cause stress. I also ask about the pet’s daily routine, including feeding times, walks, potty breaks, and bedtime habits, to keep things consistent and comfortable. It’s helpful to know what training cues or commands they respond to, along with any house rules, so I can follow the same structure they’re used to. I also like to ask about favorite toys, comfort items, or routines that help them feel secure, as well as vet information and an emergency contact. Finally, if the pet is a puppy or senior, I make sure to ask about any special needs so I can provide the right level of care.
A typical day
I love making sure dogs have fun while staying safe! Depending on their age, energy level, and personality, activities might include going on walks, playing fetch, tug-of-war, or practicing basic training skills for mental stimulation. For more laid-back pups, I’ll spend time giving belly rubs, gentle play, and cuddles. I also enjoy enrichment activities like puzzle toys, frozen treats, or hide-and-seek games to keep them mentally engaged. My goal is to make sure every dog feels happy, loved, and entertained in a way that fits their needs.

Pet care experience
What sets me apart from other sitters is my ability to tailor care to each pet’s unique needs. I’m attentive, reliable, and genuinely love building trust with animals so they feel comfortable and safe when their owners are away. I have experience with puppy training, including reinforcing basic commands, leash skills, and establishing routines. I’m also skilled in senior pet care, such as administering medications, monitoring for changes in behavior or mobility, and providing extra patience and gentle handling. Beyond that, I make sure pets get not just their basic needs met, but also play, exercise, and companionship, so they feel loved and cared for at all times.
Reviews

Kayla was absolutely amazing!!! She exceeded all of our expectations. Our two pups loved her and were so happy in all the pics she sent. She gave updates throughout the day, and took them on multiple walks! Would recommend Kayla and will be reusing!

Kayla was so professional and was very communicative! I knew my dogs were in good hands with her!!

Kayla exceeded all of my expectations! She was so thoughtful, kind, and very communicative. She sent me pictures and updates throughout the weekend and followed all of my instructions. After having a terrible experience with another sitter, Kayla restored my faith in good and honest sitters! Highly recommend her and she is our go-to from now on… She even left a sweet thank you note before I came home. So sweet and my pup loved her!! Thank you, Kayla!!!

Kayla is amazing!! I have booked with her twice and she is very friendly and communicative. I enjoy her updates and visit pictures she sends. My two dogs look so happy after her visit and are always grateful for an after walk treat. Will definitely be booking with her again, thanks Kayla :)
