Caring for animals is my passion!

Pet care experience

My experience with animals—especially dogs—started early. My family got our first dog in 2012 when I was six, and I was immediately obsessed. I trained her to twirl and snuck her extra treats whenever I could. That’s where my love for animals truly began. Growing up, I spent a lot of time at my uncle’s ranch, where he cared for over 20 rescued and adopted animals, including more than 10 retired racehorses. He regularly had six to ten dogs and cats in his care, and I helped him feed, groom, and care for them. I was also the kid who brought home every stray or lost pet I found, even if my parents weren’t thrilled. At 14, I adopted three cats of my own and took full responsibility for their care. Over time, I added another cat, a rescued stray kitten, and now also have three dogs—making a full house of seven pets I care for daily. I also volunteer weekly at my local humane society, where I help with cats, kittens, dogs, and puppies. My responsibilities include walking, feeding, cleaning, socializing animals, and monitoring their health and behavior. Recently, I began dog sitting for a family friend. I stop by his home three times a day to feed, walk, and play with his two dogs, and make sure they get plenty of outdoor time and attention. The longest period I’ve sat for so far is four days. I’ve really enjoyed the responsibility and connection, and I’m excited to continue offering pet care to other families. Animals are a huge part of my life, and I always treat them with the same love, patience, and care I give my own pets.

Safety, trust & environment

Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or a client’s, I always prioritize the animal’s comfort, safety, and routine. In a client’s home, I follow all instructions carefully to maintain their pet’s usual schedule—this includes feeding times, walk routines, playtime, medication, and any specific care needs. I make sure the pet feels calm and secure by giving them plenty of attention, love, and positive interaction. If I’m caring for pets in my own home, I create a safe and pet-friendly environment where they have space to play, rest, and feel at ease. I introduce them slowly to my own pets if needed and make sure everyone is supervised and comfortable. I always keep things clean, organized, and stress-free so that every pet feels like part of the family while they’re with me. No matter the setting, I treat every animal with patience, kindness, and respect—just like I do with my own.

Please let me know ahead of time if your dog has any special needs, medications, or allergies so I can provide the best possible care. I also appreciate knowing about: Feeding schedules and dietary restrictions Walk routines and potty habits Favorite toys, games, or calming techniques Any behavioral quirks (like separation anxiety, reactivity, or fear triggers) Whether they’re crate trained or have free roam of the house Vet contact info and emergency instructions How they usually do with other animals (if we might encounter any on walks) The more I know, the better I can make your dog feel comfortable, safe, and loved while you're away!

A typical day

A typical day caring for a dog is all about keeping them happy, active, and comfortable! I start by making sure they have fresh water, a good meal (based on their usual routine), and some love and attention to start the day. Then it’s time for a walk—whether it’s a quick potty break or a longer stroll to explore and get some energy out. During the day, I like to mix things up depending on the dog’s personality. If they’re playful, we’ll do fetch, tug-of-war, or play with their favorite toys. If they’re more relaxed, we might cuddle, enjoy some belly rubs, or just chill together in the sun. Mental stimulation is just as important, so I love incorporating fun games or even a bit of basic training or puzzle toys. In the afternoon or evening, we’ll go on another walk or potty break, followed by some wind-down time, dinner, and more affection. Throughout the day, I keep an eye on their mood, appetite, and behavior to make sure they’re happy and healthy. Whether it’s an energetic puppy or a senior dog who prefers naps and head scratches, I make sure every day feels safe, fun, and full of love.
