Being a dog lover is more than just owning a pet.
Pet care experience
I have a genuine love for animals and enjoy spending time outdoors. With an animal loving family I have grown up with dogs, I currently have a Chihuahua and recently said good night to my Greyhound. I have experience with all kinds of animals from cats, rabbits, Guinea pigs, rats to hamsters. I am patient, responsible, and attentive to the needs of each individual dog I care for. I am also a massive part of my best friend’s dog’s life (Brandi). I often help out with walking her and I stay over night when they are away. With years of experience caring for pets of all shapes and sizes, I understand the importance of consistency, routine, and positive reinforcement when it comes to exercise. I also have excellent communication skills, which make it easy for me to coordinate with pet owners and adjust my care plan as needed. Whether it's a brisk walk around the neighborhood or a leisurely stroll in the park, I always prioritize the safety and happiness of the dogs in my care. As someone who values the bond between humans and their furry companions, I take pride in providing incredible care for every dog that crosses my path. I have currently set up my own dog walking business called Katies K9s whilst I study to become a dog groomer.

When caring for a dog in someone else's house, it's important to establish trust and respect with both the dog and the homeowner. Make sure to follow any specific instructions provided by the owner regarding feeding, exercise, and medication. Spend quality time with the dog, offering plenty of attention, walks, and playtime to ensure they feel comfortable and happy in their temporary environment. Keep the house clean and tidy, being respectful of the homeowner's space by cleaning up after the dog and following any guidelines for where the dog is allowed to go within the home. Communication is key - always keep the owner updated on how their furry friend is doing so they can have peace of mind while they are away. Ultimately, treating their beloved pet as if it were your own is essential when caring for a dog in someone else's house.
Information Katie W. would like to know about your pet
Before meeting your furry friends, it's important to gather some key information before being introduced. First and foremost, it’s important for me to find out if your pet has any specific dietary restrictions or allergies so that we can avoid any potential issues when offering treats or snacks. Additionally, understanding their temperament and behavior is crucial in order to interact with them in a way that makes them feel comfortable and safe. Knowing their favourite toys or activities can also help break the ice and establish a positive relationship with your pets. Finally, it's essential to inquire about any health concerns or medical conditions they may have so that I can be prepared to handle any unexpected situations while spending time with your loved pets. By taking the time to learn these details beforehand, we can ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for both myself and your furry friend.
A typical day
When I go for a walk with all my furry friends, I love to incorporate fun activities to make the experience enjoyable for the both of us. One of my favourite things to do is play fetch in an open field or park - watching the furry friend chase after the ball with excitement never fails to put a smile on my face. Another fun activity I like to do is take different routes and explore new neighborhoods together, sniffing out new sights and smells along the way. And on hot days when going for walks at appropriate times, we might even make a pit stop at a nearby river or pond so your dog can cool off with a refreshing swim. These activities not only keep us both engaged and active but also strengthen the bond between us as we spend quality time together outdoors.
