I am working as an in-home pet care specialist around Leland and Downtown Wilmington, North Carolina with my fiancé, Jay, helping me with our business “KP Pet Care”. We are available almost every day and evening of the week to care for your animals. When we come into your home, you won’t even be able to tell that we’ve been there, except for when you come home to a happy and content pet. We are very neat and organized individuals who can follow whatever care routine you have for your animal(s).

During our meet-and-greet, it would be helpful for you to let us know of any quirks or special needs your pet may have - especially trigger words (“sit”, “stay”, “off”, “kennel”, etc.), so that we are speaking the same language and can understand each other. I run this business with my fiancé, so your pets will get double the love when we stay or do drop-ins!
A typical day
When we come by to care for your pet, you can expect us to freshen up food + water and administer medications as needed, play inside or outside, and for dogs, you can expect us to take them on nice walk around your neighborhood. Even if your cat or dog just needs a little bit of company, we’re good for it! Whatever the needs of your pet(s) are, please let us know and I will make it happen.

Hi there! It’s Katie and Jay with KP Pet Care, and we would love to take care of your furry family member(s). Old, young, big, small, high-energy, low-energy, it doesn’t matter—we promise that we will treat your furry family member(s) as if they were our own. We have both have lived with and/or cared for many different types of animals (cats, dogs, birds, fish, rodents, reptiles, etc.) throughout our 30-plus rotations around the sun. Right now we have three fur-kids who were all rescues: our dog and side-kick, Kimber, as well as two cats, Gomez and Morticia, who were the missing pieces in completing our family. We have been pet-sitting and house-sitting since adolescence, and our friends and family members have always trusted us to take care of their pets. Outside of KP Pet Care, we are HUGE animal advocates, so we are always saving animals in need and we sometimes even foster! We have plenty of experience with a variety of different temperaments, quirks, and mental or physical health issues. We are comfortable handling animals with special needs, as well as administering medication and bathing as needed. If you have a puppy or a challenging rescue dog, we can even help with leash and obedience training. If you are in need of reliable, patient, and friendly pet-sitters, feel free to contact us so we can set up a meet-and-greet! Katie and Jay were fantastic with my pup. He absolutely loved them! They were very understanding of his anxiety with new people, and were able to win him over immediately. I was anxious too about leaving him for the night, but all my worries went away at the “meet and greet.” He liked hem right away & was sad when they left. Katie sent us numerous updates and pictures to put our minds at ease. When we got home they had taken the garbage out, ran the dishwasher and left some Shepherds Pie for us to enjoy. We will ABSOLUTELY have them sit for our pup again. I highly recommend them.

Katie was absolutely fantastic sitting our 12 year old pup, Cammy! We have rarely left Cammy, and Katie set our minds at ease when we traveled for 4 nights. We received so many updates it really made our travel less stressful. You can tell that Katie absolutely loves animals. We felt as though she was taking care of Cammy like she was her own pup. We know that we have found a fantastic pet sitter for Cammy! Thank you, Katie!!
