Pet care experience
Being a pet-sitter isn't just a way for me to make money. It's a way of life that aligns with who I am. I've always felt most at peace around animals. Growing up with pets they were more than just companions. They were part of the family. So the idea that I can combine that love for animals with something I do for work is truly fulfilling. I spent 10 beautiful, years with my partner in crime, a Great Dane named Padmé. Being a bigger dog, I feel confident handling dogs of all sizes and temperaments.

About Katherine P.
Communication
Skills
Safety, trust & environment
I provide a calm and quiet introduction to allow your pet to become acclimated to my presence. On walks, I allow pups ample time to sniff and explore their environment on the walk.
Information Katherine P. would like to know about your pet
Let me know of any behavioral issues that your dog might have. If they are especially good at escaping their harness or any other relevant information you think might help me make your dog confident and comfortable.
A typical day
I love to stimulate your dog both mentally and physically by playing tug or fetch and allowing your dog to sniff all they want on our walks. Did you know 1 minute of sniffing is as mentally stimulating for a dog as a 20 minute walk? I value the importance of providing that mental stimulation to allow for a calm and happy dog post walk.

Availability
Other than volunteering at the Young-Williams Animal Shelter where I've been trained in canine handling, this is my primary job. I am currently available Monday through Sunday starting as early as 6am until 8 pm. I am flexible and can work within your schedule.
