Safety, trust & environment
I only commit to watching one dog at a time! I have a fenced in area within my 7 acres, and supervise every potty break. A sturdy gate separates the upper and lower levels of my home allowing the dog or cat an opportunity for some 'space' if needed. A guest bedroom can also be utilized for dogs needing more privacy or a more quiet space for their bed.

A typical day
I provide mental and physical stimulation for all dogs. The days activities will vary, pending on the dogs age, health, energy, obedience levels, and weather. Leashed walks around safe and beautiful Middle Musquodoboit or my own 7 acres provided daily. Scent play “training” in our fully fenced in backyard. Water play in the backyard on those hot summer days, either in the sprinkler or in the creek found on property (always a big hit)! Please be sure to provide your pets favorite toy, because we love to play hide and seek when we’re inside! I provide grain free dog biscuits, but please provide your own or specify if you would not like your dog to receive any treats.

Pet care experience
I provide a more personal approach to pet care, welcoming your dog into my home as part of the family. I have been an animal lover all of my life, and spending time with all of our furry house guests is truly a dream come true! Comfort and safety is my number one priority. Separate feedings and sleeping areas are standard, and all potty breaks are supervised! I work part time from home, allowing me to be available for your pets needs 24/7. No harsh punishments, only redirection and reward. I have two working farm dogs who spend the majority of their time outside, please don't be alarmed by the barking upon your arrival. That's their job!
Reviews
My husband and I travel once or twice each year. We did a lot of research when picking out a dog sitter. My dog is my entire world and I refused to put him in a kennel when he is spoiled with love and affection at home. Katherine came highly recommended to me by a few people. She was caring from the get go and allowed me to visit her home for a meet and greet. I immediately felt comfortable with her. I was so happy to meet her dog Luna. An affectionate golden retriever whom immediately became friends with Dexter. They played and my mind was at ease. Katherine took all my information, including feeding schedules, vet information and emergency contacts. What surprised me the most was when I hired her a year later she still had all Dexter's information. Katherine has watched Dexter for long visits (7 plus days) for 4 years now. My dog gets so excited when I drop him off at her home. Dexter quickly makes himself at home. Katherine knew I was nervous when I first left Dexter and she sent me pictures of him to put my mind at ease. Katherine is very accommodating to all dogs needs, I mentioned to her that my dog (a Boston terrier) does not like the cold. She stays home with Dexter when her husband walks Luna in colder weather. I will only leave Dexter in her care, you can tell Katherine is a true animal lover and spoils her own dog as well. I would highly recommend her, my dog loves her and her family and I'm sure yours will too!

Ivy absolutely LOVED her stay with Katherine and her family. She played happily with the other dogs, under Katherine's watchful eye and was happy (and tired) when she returned. Katherine was very willing to accommodate our schedule and is a lovely, kind person who is very knowledgable about dogs. We don't go away very often but when we do, we'll be sure to ask Katherine to 'babysit' our Ivy again! A 5-star experience, for sure!
Katherine was Great! Our baby, Mikela us a "special needs" dog and Katherine was so attentive to her needs. She always responded to my daily "worry" messages and was more than accommodating with bi-daily updates and pics. No hesitation in having Katherine take care of our dog again. Super TLC and then some. Many thanks
Leaviing our tiny diabetic Chihuahua is always hard for us. Finding the perfect person to care for him, give him extra attention and make sure he has his insulin administered on time is tedious work - Thankfully we've found Katherine! She is everything we could hope for when searching for that perfect person to leave our fur-baby with and I would recommend her to everyone I know because the truth is, she is an extension of us now and little Pharaoh loves going to see her whenever we leave him.
