I have a fenced in yard and always go out with my dogs so I can make sure they are safely inside the yard and also to make sure they have healthy bowl movements. I have been told that I’m very trustworthy. I use my experience and knowledge to help each canine in my care. If there’s something “wrong” or different about a dogs behavior I will check in with you their human parents. It is very important to me that one, you are happy with the service I provide and two, that you feel comfortable with me taking care of your fur children! Please let me know how I can best serve you!

I would like to know as much as you feel comfortable sharing with me. I want to give excellent service to you and your dog. These are some of the questions I usually ask when dog sitting for new clients: 1. What is the routine that you have with your dog on a daily basis? EX: When they get up, when they go outside, when they eat, etc) 2, Does your dog have any health issues that affect their overall behavior? (arthritis, hip dysplasia, seizures, separation anxiety, etc ) 3. Are they are afraid of anything? (fireworks, storms, cars), 4. What are the treats and toys that they enjoy the most? 5. Are they crate trained? 6. Is your dog housebroken? 7. Do they have nasty habits? (Ex: getting into the trash, eating poop, chasing the cat, eating rodents, drinking from the toilet, escape artist, grumpiness or aggressive behavior towards other dogs or cats, etc) 8. How old is your dog? 9. Is there anything that you are training your dog to do? 10. I would also ask that if I am providing services for your dog or dogs, that in case of an emergency, I have your contact information and also who your vet is. I want to assure that you know that I would take care your dog like I would take care of my own dogs. I don't have breed preferences.

I would first find out what your dog loves to do with you and your family and then do those things. Such as: play fetch, tug of war, play enrichment games, go to dog park, take them on car rides, go on fieldtrips or go on long walks. I am here for you, and for your dog. Every dog is different and have their own unique personality. I would do the things that you like to do with them and/or what they enjoy most. Once, your dog and I "become friends" I might start to try to introduce them to similar but different games or activities based on the knowledge that I have gained. My main goal of working with dogs, is to treat them with respect by exercising their mind and their body. Through enrichment games, food puzzles and some basic dog training, I will help your dog become behaviorally better. The best feeling is when you return home from your work day and discover that your dog is calm but happy to see you! Here are some examples of what I like to do with my dogs: I really like taking my dogs, Skue and Ginny to the Lawrence Mutt Run or to the off leash dog park at Shawnee Lake. They enjoy playing with other dogs. They are both social butterflies and find friends everywhere. Skye and Ginny have a lot of physical energy and they love to run and frolic. At the Mutt Run there are many trails to hike with them and when the swimming area is open Skye loves to swim and retrieve things from the water! Ginny and Skye also enjoy playing tug of war, playing fetch, chewing, and enrichment activities I do with them. Including, hide and seek (with food), food puzzle games, gate control, and they both love positive reinforcement clicker training. Westly is getting up in age but still loves going on walks and being cuddled!

Experiencia en el cuidado de mascotas
I received a certification in the Fundamentals of Clicker training and positive reinforcement in a Karen Pryor Academy class. I have experience training puppies to behave correctly with humans and dogs. From the age of 8 to adulthood, I ran my own house sitting business in cities in eastern Kansas, including Lawrence, and Overland Park, KS. I have worked in Veterinary Clinics, Humane Societies and dog boarding facilities. Through experience and classes I know how to interact with our beloved furry friends. I know how dogs communicate, dog breed characteristics, breed groups, developmental stages, play styles, and how to meet their needs. I am determined to help strengthen the bond between you and your dog. I practice a routine when I take care of the dogs in my care. They spend 1/4 time exercising, another 1/4 time playing either with their canine buddies and or with me, 1/4 the time training or learning a new trick, mentally stimulate them, and finally the last 1/4 of time resting. As you know, all dogs crave structure and routine. When they know what to expect, then they know how to behave. My knowledge of dog safety and how to treat all dogs with individual needs will ensure you peace of mind. I have worked with many dog breeds, all sizes, and all ages. I do not have any breed preferences. I currently own three dogs: Skye is a lab mix, a senior ( 8 years old), Westly, a corgi, is a senior ( 11 years old), and Ginny is a lab mix, just a wee puppy (8 months old) Developing meaningful relationships with canines is my passion. I always treat my clients' dogs like they were my own.

Kat was great! My girls loved her and she provided me with updates throughout the days. Kat was also super considerate and maintained communication with me while I was away on my trip. Thanks Katbfor taking such kind care of my girls!!! I will definitely be using Kat again for house/dog sitting and walking.
Kat was amazing!!!! We had too fInd a new setter at the last minute. Being new to the area and not knowing anyone was nerve wracking enough but having to find a new setter that quick was even worse...kat made me feel very relaxed about leaving my fur babies and my house with a total stranger. She sent pictures every day and it was a relief to see how happy they were while we were gone
Kat was awesome with both dogs. They were so comfortable with her so we were comfortable with leaving them. She’s great with dogs. Definitely will have her stay with the dogs when we need someone again.

Thanks again for such a positive experience! Ava, my Great Pyrenees, adores Kat and always has an excellent time with her. I'll definitely book her again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to others.
