Artist, Kind, Animal Loving Sitter
Pet care experience
I have always had a deep bond and love with animals, even as a child. Growing up, my days were busy taking care of rabbits, crayfish, turtles, parakeets, and of course our treasured family dog (a golden retriever) named Aliah. As an adult now, I have a HUGE heart for animals and care deeply about all sentient beings, as well as the environment. After I began my career as a Special Education Teacher, I also began a weekend career of volunteering and fostering animals from different NYC non-profit rescues. Over the past decade I've gotten the chance to love and meet so many different dogs/cats/kittens/puppies from all walks of life; and it never ceases to amaze me what a bit of patience, love, and chicken, can do the transform an animal's heart. Over the years, I have gained a lot of insight into animals and have experience working with animals who have anxiety/trauma, potty training, cleaning cages/litter boxes, walking multiple dogs at a time, managing dogs that elope, and administering medications.
Reviews

Karen was kind and kept me in the loop throughout her visits with Ezio. I really appreciated her checking in on him. Unfortunately ezio spit up while I was away and although Karen did a great job of cleaning it up, but our outdoor garbage cans were full, and it was left in a bag with his litter in the apartment. I arrived the next day to a rather unpleasant scent in my apartment. I would have appreciated a little foresight to dispose of it in the house trash can which had a lid instead. Otherwise things went swimmingly. Overall Karen was trusted with the care for my fur companion and I appreciated her efforts.

Karen was great! Very communicative and thorough! Felt very comfortable leaving my fur babies in her care.

Karen took phenomenal care of our senior cat, Ted. He was well fed and cared for and in great spirits when we got home from a long trip. Karen is reliable, conscientious, communicative, dependable and a true animal lover. Ted can’t wait for her next visit 🐈

Karen Is a gift to your fur baby!! She is trustworthy, reliable, kind and excellent at communicating, and loving on your pet! Our dog loved her and we loved the peace of mind that she was in great hands! Highly recommend Karen!

I treat every person, animal, living creature with the upmost kindness and respect, it is my whole life mantra. It means a lot to me. Any animal I care for, I would care for as I would my own dog.
Information Karen L. would like to know about your pet
I would definitely need to know anything about physical restrictions, medical conditions, level of timidness/aggressions, triggers, and of course their passions and preferences as to what they like to do :)
A typical day
A typical day would definitely depend on the pet, their interests and individual needs. However I would say, most typical days would look like and include.... a lot of pets, toy playing, ball throwing, walks, sunshine, conversations, and singing.

Right now, as I put a pause on teaching to explore my creative endeavors this year, I am looking to supplement my current income with my other passion, animals! By design, the creative projects I am working on luckily, bring me extreme joy and simultaneously provide me with a flexible schedule to work with animals!
