Pet care experience
...after an initial reactive barking introduction from my honey girl, she mostly stays to herserlf. Your pup will get just about all of my attention! I've had senior dogs of mine and during stays. I'm happy to provide extra care for those. I'm excited to share the love I have with your pup. I've volunteered at the Denver Animal Shelter in various positions. I live close to downtown and actually live in a townhouse with stairs but I hope that won't deter you from inquiring. It's a pet(mostly dog) friendly community. I have a senior rescue, Ekahi(female). I am home just about 24/7 and we would love an occasional friend. She doesn't really play and lost her companion almost two years ago. She might come out of her shell with a friend. Ekahi likes to bark at most bigger dogs until she has time to compose herself. We're working on that with the 'Friend" command. Treats work well. She only has one eye so can be startled. I have a small, fenced in back yard and there is a semi-private off-leash park a block away. Your dog may meet a friend or 3 on our walks. Any guest is instantly a friend and welcomed with open arms and paws. Any questions, please ask. Please no fleas. About this sitter: I LOVE Dogs! In high school I wanted to be a veterinarian, but found out I was allergic to cats and decided to go a different route. Somehow I got into teeth. I can't do that now and I want to do something I enjoy and dogs are it! Why I love dog sitting: I've had dogs growing up since high school. Mostly on but some off since then. Meet my pet: Ekahi: 20 lb Shih Tzu female. I fostered her for 3 months before adopting her September 2019. She's the sweetest thing and loves belly rubs. Doesn't play much but will accept ear, belly, and bum scritches. Aside from my dog, I will give yours plenty of love and attention. They will be fed separately and closely monitored as my girl might eat what's available. About my yard: I have a small back yard with a fence about 4' high. I have a gate that is always closed and locked. The yard it's made of concrete, mulch, and a mature tree for shade.

Lots of love. When walking, I prefer a harness. It's just safer with more control. Treats occasionally. Fresh water. Separate feeding areas. Enjoying time/walks outside when it's not too hot or cold but I do have some clothes to keep them comfortable depending on their size.

Feeding schedule, entertainment schedule, vet information, is the rabies vaccination current***, are they ok with other dogs, where are they allowed to go(furniture, bed, etc). Are they a barker and anything training wise they would like me to work on. Are they house broken? Any personality demeanor. Does the dog get spooked by anything? Are they ok being indoors and leaving my dog alone and just having human attention?
A typical day
Here's where we'll take our walks: Out in the neighborhood weather and dog permitting. There's also a park not far away for your doggie to explore and sniff around. The community is very dog friendly so yours is likely to make a friend along the way. Sniffing either a new dog or one we've made friends with. Your dog's sleeping arrangement: My dog is allowed on the bed. She sleeps on or off, whatever she chooses. Yours will do whatever your bedtime routine is. They can also be separated with personal space or in a crate at night. Time I'll spend with your dog: Right now Rover is my thing so most of the day I'm home. I do have a weekly commitment a couple hours a week and need to do regular errands, but overall they will get plenty of home time as I job search. I'll even let them on my lap if they want...no pressure.

I'm job searching right now and am only away for routine life things. I stopped volunteering at the Denver Animal Shelter in various positions because I broke my foot and am volunteering with the American Red Cross as a Caseworker. I have just about all the time in the world to love on your doggie! If I have something personally that needs to be done, I try to adjust and be gone as short a time as possible.
