As a speech therapy student, I’ve developed patience, empathy, and strong communication skills (yes, even with non-verbal furry friends!). I take the time to understand each pet’s personality, routines, and needs, and I adapt completely to them. I also bring a calm, loving energy that animals pick up on right away. We zijn ontzettend tevreden over Kallista als hondenoppas! Ze heeft ondertussen al twee keer op onze teckelpuppy gepast en dat deed ze fantastisch. Vooraf nam ze uitgebreid de tijd om alle nodige info te vragen en duidelijke afspraken te maken, wat meteen veel vertrouwen gaf. Tijdens het oppassen hield ze ons goed op de hoogte met regelmatige updates en schattige foto’s van onze pup. Zo wisten we dat ze in goede handen was. Kallista is betrouwbaar, zorgzaam en heeft echt oog voor het welzijn van je hond. Een absolute aanrader!
Kallista fait preuve de beaucoup de professionnalisme en ce qui concerne la garde des chats et des chiens ainsi que les soins à leur dispenser. Son amour, presque inconditionnel pour les animaux, lui a permis d'acquérir de solides connaissances qu'elle a souvent eu l'occasion de mettre en pratique. Elle est, de surcroît, très fiable, très organisée, très ponctuelle. On peut compter sur elle, sachant qu'elle nous informe régulièrement de l'état de nos petites boules de poils.
Kalista est une personne très professionnelle et attentionnée. On sent tout de suite qu’elle aime vraiment les animaux. Elle s’adapte parfaitement aux besoins de chaque animal et s’en occupe avec beaucoup de soin et de douceur. Je la recommande les yeux fermés !

Before caring for a pet, I always like to know their daily routine, feeding schedule, energy level, and any medical needs or allergies. It’s also super helpful to understand their behavior: Are they shy or sociable? Do they get along with other animals? Are there any fears, triggers, or habits I should be aware of? For cats especially, I like to know if they’re indoor-only, if they like to hide, and how they usually react to new people. And for dogs, knowing their leash behavior and recall is really important for safe walks. The more I know in advance, the better I can make them feel safe, happy, and understood 🐾
A typical day
A typical day with me depends on the pet’s personality, age, and energy level — I always adapt to their needs. For dogs, that might mean a nice walk in a quiet park, some playtime with their favorite toy, and lots of positive attention (plus maybe a treat or two if allowed 😉). For cats, I create a calm environment with space to explore, interactive play with toys they love (feathers? laser pointer? I got it), and cozy cuddle sessions if they’re in the mood. I always give them room to feel safe and in control, especially with shy or independent kitties. Throughout the day, I make sure they’re mentally stimulated, emotionally comforted, and physically cared for — whether that’s running in the garden, sunbathing near a window, or just enjoying a peaceful nap with someone nearby who loves them. And of course, I’ll send you cute updates so you don’t miss a thing 🐾

Availability
As a student, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to dedicate real time and energy to pet care. I organize my days around the needs of the animals I care for — whether it’s morning walks, midday check-ins, or evening cuddles. Since I don’t work a 9-to-5, I can be present and focused, not rushed or distracted. Taking care of pets isn’t something I squeeze in — it’s something I truly enjoy and make space for in my life, every single week. It’s part of my routine, but also part of what brings me joy.
