Availability

I currently work remotely full time, Monday-Friday. House sitting is the perfect fit for me, since I can work from anywhere and it keeps your pet(s) in the comfort of their own home and routine. I have very limited drop-in visit availability on weekdays - typically early morning and evening. Boardings are very rarely accepted - any pet I bring into my home must be multi-dog and multi-cat friendly.

While staying with me, your fur babies will be treated as if they are one of my own. I will do my best to ensure they are cared for in a way that is consistent with their typical routine or schedule. While house sitting, I believe in leaving spaces better than I find them. I will make sure that in addition to looking after your pets, I keep your home clean and tidy. I do not share human food, unless it has been specifically okayed by you as part of their routine. I do not do unsupervised outside play time - if they are with me, I make sure I can see them at all times, unless we are safely inside. I also do not do off leash walks, unless you specifically allow that and your dog has excellent recall. I will not leave your home with your pet (ie to Starbies for a pup cup), unless you specifically allow that as a part of their routine, nor will I bring uninvited guests (human or otherwise) into your home. My priority is making sure they are safe, healthy, and happy while in my care, and minimize any risks.

Information Julie G. would like to know about your pet

I love all dogs (and cats) - any breed is okay by me. If your pet has any favorite toys or activities, that would be great to know ahead of time. Also, any fears/phobias, dietary needs, medical concerns, or habits I should know about. Example: My Emma girl is afraid of cows and the vacuum. Floki on the other hand doesn’t mind the vacuum at all, but can be timid around dogs he is meeting for the first time. And both of them are terrified of thunderstorms and fireworks. Knowing details like that will help me give your pet the best, and most stress-free experience possible. Feel free to tell me those quirky routines you may have accidentally created, and I’ll do my best to stick to it! Example: My dogs won’t go to bed until you say the phrase “Who’s ready for nighnight potties?” At which point they run to the door, go outside to pee, and come back and head straight to bed. 😄 It also helpful to know if your fur baby is an escape artist and will try to run outside, dig/jump a fence, or escape a harness.

A typical day

If I am staying or visiting in your home, I try to stay consistent with your fur babies routine, as well as give them plenty of outside time, play time, and affection. Your pets are always welcome to sleep in the bed with me, if that is part of their normal routine. I adore dogs and cats, and all animals in general. There is nothing better than snuggling a doggo, or petting a purring cat. Giving pet parents peace of mind while they are traveling is always my goal, and you can trust that I will love them like they are one of my own while you are away.

Pet care experience

Hi! My name is Julie and I am a long time animal lover. I grew up with cats and dogs and a variety of farm animals, and I have always loved spending time with, rescuing, and caring for creatures. I currently have 5 dogs (Floki, Emma, Garcia, Maggie, and Rex), and 6 cats (Luna, Phoebe, Toby, Mowgli, Shere Khan, and Bagheera). Pets are not “just animals” to me; they members of my family. I love all of my creatures dearly, and I will treat yours with just as much love, caring, and kindness as I would my own. I have experience giving medications and caring for sick, injured, and special needs pets also. I would love the opportunity to meet and care for your fur baby, whether its going on walks, dropping by to feed and play, or house sitting while you travel. I am also open to caring for cats, small pets (such as ferrets, rabbits, birds, etc) and even farm animals (such as chickens, ducks, goats, horses, etc). Just let me know what your pet care needs are, and I’m sure we can work something out!

I don’t have words to express how much we appreciate Julie! She takes such incredible care of our fur babies while we are away. She doesn’t just feed and care for them but shows them all the love and attention she would as if they were her own. Our dogs soak up the belly rubs and absolutely love seeing her. It makes our trips so much easier knowing they are in such loving care. She’s an amazing pet sitter!!

Julie was amazing as always! You can truly see the love and care she gives all our fur babies in the photos she shares. Our pups are always so happy to see her and we couldn’t be more fortunate to have her support when we can’t be here.
