Joy was excellent. She was responsible and really took loving care of our dog. She sent regular photos and communicated with us constantly which we appreciated. I would definitely use heragain and was fortunate to have had her available to us.

I really hesitated to post a review because I found Joy to be extremely pleasant, kind, and wonderful with my dog. She left my house clean and was respectful. However if one had the same experience I had I'd hope they'd share it with other potential members. Unfortunately, our experience with her has not been as good as the others. We had let her know that our dog is not used to being home alone for long hours at a time. She understood that. But then, shortly after we left, she said she was going to run errands one of which included a doctors appointment. No problem. However, 4 hrs later she's still not back. I asked her how our dog was and she said she was just finishing up a few things. When I pressed further she said she was still needing to see her doctor then let out her own dogs. I told her I didn't want my dog to stay alone in the house for that long and I didn't get a response from her. At almost 6 hrs passed and she's still not back and I have no idea what's going on or when she's coming back. When she did respond it was "stuck in traffic" or "sorry things took longer than expected" but no real reasons as to whats taking so long. By hour 7 I'm EXTREMELY worried and upset. I tried calling and she's not picking up. She's not responding to my texts as quickly as I feel one should who's watching over a furry family member. I had to call my mother in law to go over and let my poor dog outside and to clean up any messes she may have made at this point. I flat out asked Joy if she was even coming back. She said again "Sorry almost there stuck in traffic" I called Rover emergency support and they told me she had already refunded half our money and that there was an injury. I was confused. They wouldn't share what kind of injury and you can only imagine what kind of worry this put me and my husband in. Still zero communicaton from Joy about this. I tried calling her one last time and she finally picked up and said she was sorry and that she injured her arm using the ball chucker and since it was an arm that had surgery recently she went to her doctor. She said she was embarrased to tell us which I find odd. I'm not sure why she felt the alternative was a better option. I accepted her apology of course, asked if she's ok, and asked when she'll be home. She was gone a total of just over 8 hrs. I spent more time worrying about the wellbeing of my dog than enjoying the trip which upsets me so much. My mind was preoccupied with worry and confusion. Although we liked her and felt she was a great fit, it was still a stranger in our home with our garage door opener and she's appearing to have ditched us while we're out of state. Very scary. I do feel she learned from this and don't think she'll make this mistake again. Our family would've completely understood what she needed to do if she would've just TOLD us. We are very caring and compassionate people and would've never held this against her. Although my husband feels her story about her arm is not real. My thoughts are, if she was this irresponsible with lack of communication than this is not someone we can trust to watch our precious family member again.
