I treat your dog like my own!

Pet care experience

I offer the kind of dog boarding services I would hope to have for my own dogs. You can see photos of your dog having fun and interacting with other dogs that I send to you while you are away. I include basic training to dogs who are boarding with me at no additional charge. PLEASE NOTE: If you need me on dates that I am marked as Unavailable in the Rover Calendar, please feel free to check with me anyway. I am recovering from a knee injury, knee replacement surgery, and doing physical therapy. If you can handle my temporary limp, I can accommodate guest dogs. I have 64 FIVE-STAR REVIEWS, by far the most of any Rover provider in Colquitt County, Georgia and beyond. DOGNACULAR is based in southwest Georgia on 3.25 acres that include my house and pond. The perimeter is enclosed with a 6' high chain link fence. ▪︎ All my policies and procedures are designed for the safety and comfort of my clients' dogs and my clients' peace of mind. ▪︎ I require new client Meet-n-Greets, except when logistics and/or timing make them unfeasible. ▪︎ I have a large fenced-in area within the perimeter for dogs that might need to be segregated. I bring all dogs into the house at night. When they are outside, I am out there with them or keeping an eye on them. My gates are kept locked for security except when a gate is in use, during which no dog is loose outside. ▪︎ I require proof of reasonable vaccinations and recommend others. This applies to all dogs entering my property for Meet & Greets as well as for boarding and training. I need a copy of documentation of vaccinations from your vet. I hope that is not a problem for anyone. I would rather be extra cautious than put any dog here at risk. ▪︎ I have a simple set of forms to be completed mostly by me for each client regarding feeding, special commands your dog knows that I need to know, emergency contact info in case I need to reach you, what to bring and what not to bring, etc. I also offer training to owners and their dogs for additional fees: ▪︎ Basic Obedience (non-competition) ▪︎ Conditioning for health and dog sports ▪︎ Dock-jumping performance events ▪︎ Retriever work for hunting and hunting tests I KEEP MY ADDRESS CONFIDENTIAL - for safety, security & privacy reasons. I am open by APPOINTMENT ONLY. I release my address on a need-to-know basis, such as when I schedule a Meet-n-Greet, book a boarding, etc. The reviews began with a company named DogVacay, which was purchased by Rover. The gap in dates on my reviews is because my last home was in a massive wildfire caused by my utility company that destroyed 95% of my town in northern California on 11/08/2018. Fortunately, I had just returned from a trip and had no client dogs to evacuate. I successfully evacuated with my two eldest dogs, Primus and Tunie. I bought Scorch as a puppy in 2021. I bought my home in Georgia in early 2022. It took awhile to get established here, including having my entire perimeter cleared and a full perimeter fence installed. During the interim, I worked out of the area for field trial retriever professional trainers I knew. I also cared for a few existing clients' dogs when I temporarily was on my own property in California. All my rates and policies, such as the cancellation policy, are customized, based upon individual circumstances. I offer discounts for multiple pets, multiple days, and repeat clients. Please see the Rate Info below. OVERNIGHT BOARDING RATE INFO: Regular rate = $30/24-hrs per dog (I charge per 24-hr intervals and additional hours on the last day at my day care rate, not by # of days or nights.) DISCOUNTS & EXTRA CHARGES ▪︎ Rate for two dogs from the same owner = $55/24-hrs. ▪︎ Holiday period surcharge = $5/24-hours per dog ▪︎ Regular weekly discount = 10% off ▪︎ Regular 2-week discount = 15% off ▪︎ 2nd booking = 25% off 1st 24-hr period (3-night minimum) ▪︎ 3rd and add'l bookings = 50% off 1st 24-hr period (3-night minimum) DAY CARE RATE INFO: Up to 8 hours = $20 8 to 9 hours = $22 9 to 10 hours = $24 10 to 11 hours - $26 11 to 12 hours = $28 More than 12 hours = $30 (same as 24-hour rate) MULTIPLE DAYS BOOKED AT THE SAME TIME RECEIVE A DISCOUNT! If these rates don't work for you, please let me know, and I'll try to make a special plan just for you. OTHER RATE INFO: Please ASK ME about the range of options and associated rates. I only am offering Dog Boarding and Day Care in my home at this time. If you have other needs, such as transportation or mentoring/coaching at dog events, please let me know and we can discuss them. I take the potentially deadly respiratory condition in dogs called Canine Infectious Respiratory Disease Complex (CIRDC), even in vaccinated dogs, very seriously. If there are any signs a dog has CIRDC, please seek veterinary assessment immediately and amend any plans you have made with me accordingly. Joule, was wonderful with our pups! They had a fabulous time even with bad weather. She kept us informed about how everything was going, sent lots of pictures, and made their stay incredible. I highly recommend her!

Absolutely RUN from this woman. She will pretend to be nice, then try to scam you into paying her for care she didn't provide. I booked a stay for my dog 9/27 - 9/30 while evacuating Hurricane Ian. Thankfully, the hurricane didn't affect my home much. We dropped off my dog early am on 9/28 and then picked him up early evening on 9/29. After acknowledging in writing that the booking times needed to be modified, she then lied and claimed she couldn't do it in order to keep the extra money. I of course reached out to Rover for help - not thinking there was an issue with getting her help as some people are not very tech savvy. She immediately responded by harassing me (for several hours! She just wrote me again 5 minutes ago!) demanding to be paid, lying about my dog's behavior (he's a Shiba Inu which she also had no experience with... everyone knows those are the friendliest dogs ever) in an attempt to make Rover feel sympathy for her having cared for such a horrid dog that she needs extra money. She even mistakenly screenshot an email she was writing to herself (she left it in the TO field and it had an empty subject) to show fraudulent 'proof' of my dog's alleged misbehavior. She also seemed to be disappointed that our home was not destroyed by the hurricane (sort of like trauma bonding?) due to the fact she claimed to have also suffered a natural disaster and lost her home and everything in a fire, repeatedly suggested we handle everything outside of Rover (which is sketchy and against Rover policy), and even made me sign papers containing sensitive info before agreeing to care for my dog. We'd already driven 5 hours, were exhausted, and had no choice, so I did. This woman is a scam artist who preys on families going through crisis. It's sickening. I cannot be bullied or harassed into anything, so it doesn't work on me. I feel anxious about all the people it has worked on though. I am shocked by all the positive reviews. Avoid her at all costs. I have used Rover for 5 years and have never had an issue. We will NEVER book with Joule again.

Information Joule C. would like to know about your pet

I utilize forms to gather all this information during a Meet-n-Greet or, if a Meet-n-Greet is not feasible, via email and texts. The forms are designed to take a minimal amount of time to complete while providing all the info that my clients and I need to know. They have been modified through the years to accommodate as many variables as possible.

A typical day

Walks usually are around the pond on the pond dam, or around the house, on grass. The active client dogs get plenty of additional exercise playing with my canine crew or each other. The lesser active ones have space to relax. In my home, dogs may choose between dog beds, my furniture, area rugs, or the floors.

Availability

I am at home at all times I have client dogs, except to run very occasional and necessary shopping errands. If that should occur, all client dogs are secured in my home. When I am away competing with my own dogs, my Rover Availability Calendar shows me as Unavailable. Due to recovering from my knee surgery, my Availability is subject to change. I cannot be certain which events I will be able to attend during the remainder of 2024. I work part-time from my home office; so, I have plenty of time to tend to your dog. I train my own dogs daily, and welcome observers (by appointment).
