Pet care experience
I am available to care for your animal at any time of day and located in Newport News! Additionally, I grew up with large German Shepherds and hound dogs; I've got experience from puppy to full adulthood, and can guarantee long walks and play time! I'm fairly active, so if allowed outdoor walks are allowed we'll be going on them! Additionally if socialized, the local dog parks are definitely an option as well. I truthfully view dogs as companions, not pets, and care for them as such (without spoiling). If still a puppy, I've worked through housetraining and socializing and can assist you in that while you're out of town. All in all, I'd be just as grateful for the opportunity to watch your dog as you'd be for me to watch them! I am available usually on short notice!

Jordan has been a huge help for me and my boyfriend while we work full time. We can feel at ease knowing Jordan is helping to take care and spend time with your Bernese Mountain Dog puppy while we're busy with our schedules. I am a very affectionate pet caretaker and make it a point to win over their trust first. I have experience with apprehensive dogs, but I tend to win them over well. My own personal dogs are both pit bull mixes, and can easily be your dog's buddy if they need one! I also love to play games with the pups and can play gentle if they're a timid pupper or wrestle a bit if they like to be tossed around. Either way, it's all based on the animal's comfort level and play style.

I definitely want to know if any previous aggressive issues have happened, and also age, how socialized you think they are, feeding/bathroom schedule, and if there are any special needs I should be tending to. I'd also like to know play type and level, are they a lazy pup, high energy, what games are their favorite, what toys are their favorite, what treats, etc. Anything I can learn to gain your dog's trust, respect your routine and behavior training, and make them less lonely in your absence whether it's just for a workday or for a full vacation!
A typical day
Typically, depending on the time of day determines what activities we can do. If it's not too hot of a day, there are local dog friendly parks and beaches we can go to. If your dog is familiar with a dog park, I'm glad to take them there. If they get along well with other dogs I can gladly bring one of mine along to be friends and keep your dog from feeling lonely in your absence, and bring a playmate. I'm always carrying toys, so games like tug and fetch can happen.

I am currently a full time graduate student and manage a side consulting business, I can fit pet needs into just about any time during my day. I can schedule drop-in visits or walks at any time. In addition, if house sitting is needed, I can provide that while staying in your home or caring for your animal in an extended time period.
