I grew up around a variety of pets, as my aunt and uncle owned a chain of pet stores in our hometown in SC. Additionally, I have been house/dog sitting since I was about 13. From all my exposure to animals, I have learned that there is rarely a cookie-cutter approach to pet-sitting, and the best outcome for all parties typically involves 1) Paying attention 2) Understanding routines/patterns-of-behavior and 3) Listening to the people who spend the most time with the pet(s).
