Safety, trust & environment

I believe in maintaining a calm and comfortable environment for your pets, especially if it is a first time interaction. Giving them time to warm up to a new person also allows me time to understand their temperament and what to avoid when caring for them. Pets understand their schedule and have habits and I’ll do my best to meet them where they’re most comfortable.

A typical day

When dog sitting, I like start the day with an early walk and light playtime before settling into daytime naps, and starting the evening off with a long walk, ball toss, or run around in the park (depending on temperament). I’ll usually take small breaks from work during the day to play a bit, give some attention and affection, and needed potty breaks.

Pet care experience

Outside of family pets growing up, I have experience raising, training, and caring for a golden doodle puppy at 23. I was also the partial caretaker for a rescue dog from 2016-2018. Since then I’ve taken care of roommates dogs, and have built a repertoire as a dependable pet sitter amongst friends. I love long walks and outdoor fun, but am just as happy being a couch potato pal.

Joe did such a wonderful job taking care of my boys for the weekend. He kept me updated with photos and left my house spotless. Thanks again Joe! The boys had a blast with you!!

Joe has been an excellent pet caregiver for my senior (12+) corgi mix, Jolene, for the past year. Joe is deeply attentive to her varied needs, always cares for the space well, and is available for communication as needed. It's been a joy to build a reliable relationship with a dogsitter that also just so happens to be a delightful human. Your pets will be in excellent, care with Joe.

Joey is my cats' (and my!) #1 petsitter. He's very responsible and communicative, and is always loving and compassionate with my cats and chickens. I have three cats and they're always a bit of a handful, but Joey's calm and caring demeanor has won them and me over. He's always followed the instructions for feeding perfectly (even though they vary by cat), and asked clarifying questions when they weren't clear. He's even troubleshot the LitterRobot which can be rather annoying at times. Sometimes when I get a petsitter and return home from a trip, my cats give me the cold shoulder, but when Joey has looked after them, the cats are always calm and excited to see me, and I know they've been well taken care of. I can't recommend Joey highly enough!

Joe is my go-to pet sitter for my lil guy Hank! He’s caring, attentive and an overall natural. Hank can be a bit anxious, but I can tell he’s at ease around Joe and is always smiling when I pick him up. I wouldn’t leave my fur child with anyone else!
