Full attention & love for your pet
Spending time with animals has always been one of my greatest joys. I’ve had pets all my life—cats and my own dog—and even without one in my current apartment, I stay closely connected through a few long-standing clients whose homes and pets I’ve cared for over the past ten years. I’ve said goodbye to some of their longtime companions and now care for the new animals who have joined their families. My Rover availability is limited, and I take on only a small number of additional stays so every animal receives my full attention. love all animals, but dogs hold a special place for me. Their calm, steady presence brings out the best in me—lifting my mood, grounding my energy, and reminding me of what matters. They also make wonderful companions for my active, nature-filled lifestyle. I work for a small biotech startup and also run a life-coaching practice, which gives me a flexible and balanced schedule. I genuinely enjoy staying in new homes and exploring different neighborhoods with a furry companion by my side. During the week, I keep a regular gym routine, and many of my weekends are spent climbing in Yosemite—a reminder of how much I love nature and being outdoors. I maintain an active daily walking routine that your dog will happily join, and together we can explore nearby parks, beaches, and all the beauty the Bay Area has to offer. When I’m home, I’m quiet and content with a good book or cooking a simple meal, and I’m always glad to offer a comfortable lap to any cat who wants it. As a former homeowner and someone who regularly cares for friends’ homes over major holidays, I understand what it takes to look after someone’s space respectfully and responsibly. I’m clean, organized, and communicative, and I treat every home I stay in with the same attention and care I would expect for my own. I’m happy to provide updates as often—or as little—as you prefer.

When I stay in a client’s home, I follow the routine their pet already knows—regular walks, feeding schedules, playtime, and plenty of companionship. I keep the home clean, organized, and treat it with the same care and respect I would want for my own. I provide updates as often as clients prefer, and I make sure pets feel safe, relaxed, and well-attended to throughout the stay.

Janine was fantastic with our dog, Chucky! She sent daily updates with cute pictures and seemed to genuinely enjoy her time with him. She also left our house as neat (or neater!) than she found it! We will definitely be contacting Janine again next time we’re out of town!
Janine house-sitted our dog and two cats for four days. Everything went smoothly and the pets were very happy. Janine texted us regular updates. I can only highly recommend Janine.
We had a wonderful experience with Janine and would hire her again in a heartbeat. She and our dog Rosie got along great, she took Rosie on some fun adventures, and she is an excellent communicator. She was also a wonderful house sitter and left our house neater than she found it!
Janine went above and beyond. She walked my two pits twice a day while staying at my home. They can be a lot to manage and she had no issues. I think she might have given them more love than I do. Haha. She left the house spotless as well. I would definitely hire Janine again, as I know my dogs will be spoiled in her company.
Janine was really attentive and made every effort to ensure my two guys were as comfortable as possible. One is easy, the other a challenge and she more than rose to the occasion. I would highly recommend to anyone!
Janine is a dependable and careful caretaker of our house and cat in the Oakland neighborhood of Rockridge. We have known Janine for more than 15 years and she has been taking care of our house and now elderly cat when we go away. Our cat always wants attention and can be a bit feisty with her multiple medications but Janine handles it all. When Janine's mom visited from Germany and they both stayed at our house during our trip, our cat got so much attention from them that she ignored us for days after we got back. During Janine's most recent stay, our heater stopped working on a weekend day during a major holiday, when getting a service person there would have been impossible. Despite offering to come back to deal with it, Janine asked my husband to walk her through the problem and they were able to resolve the issue over a video call. Janine has also made friends among our neighbors, and because she loves dogs, she often offers to walk our neighbors' dog whenever she stays at our house. We highly recommend Janine!

Programa
Pet care fits naturally into my weekly routine. I split my time between working from home and going into my nearby office for a few hours when needed. I typically take dogs for a morning walk before starting my workday and another in the afternoon. I do go to the gym in the late afternoon for about two hours, so there’s a window when I’m away, but the rest of my schedule is flexible and allows me to be consistently present and attentive with the animals I care for.
