Let me start with the positives - Jade comes across as a nice kind person who seemed to like my dog. That was nice and made me choose her as a sub for my regular sitter who could not do 4 days during my longer trip to Japan. Those nice characteristics made me overlook a couple odd things in the very beginning of our interaction and go with Jade. To start, Jade felt uncomfortable to come to my house for meet-and-greet which she herself suggested as I recall, she could only come accompanied by her friend (not on Rover) or meet in Cascades park. Ok, I met with her in the park. She then asked me for my personal phone number in violation of Rover policy, but considering a long-distance trip and perhaps getting it for emergencies, I accommodated. I paid for a couple additional walks so she and my dog could get familiar before the trip. Those 4 days were very disruptive for my travels and the conference I was attending as I had to read and answer her many texts, including in the middle of the night without urgency, and texts were sent to my personal phone and not via Rover. I had to read her comments that her Rover app not working, those were sent to me and NOT Rover customer support, which I suggested she do. I am not going to write all things which just were rather disruptive for my trip, but among major - she took my dog in cold weather (early March when it was cold) under the rain on about 39 minute walk as I recall, the longest walk she took my dog at that point, longer than the up to 30-minutes walks we discussed, which could have made my 12 year old dog sick. I saw video on my garage camera of my dog refusing to step outside into the rain and go and she made him anyway. When I would bring an issue up she would "deeply apologize". If you are not on a busy trip and don't mind reading endless texts, answering questions, and getting photos of what she thinks is wrong with your house (I got a photo that the screen is a little off on my patio door) then I recommend her for the out-of-town trip. One more thing - for some reason she was not able to complete a loop around the block with my dog in 30 minutes while I do that loop in probably 15 minutes, a neighbor mentioned to me after I got back that he thought my dog sitter was a little too timid or inexperienced and that he saw her just let my dog "wonder" while she followed him. When a neighbor takes time to tell you the sitter did not look knowledgeable that means something. To conclude with the positives - my dog did remain healthy and there were no accidents in the house, and Jade did take time to provide care.

Jade was really professional & timely! I’ve had issues with other walkers not walking my baby for the full time but often Jade even stayed longer and gave my kitties pets! She is amazing ❤️
