Have a baby gate for the senior dog so they don't overexert themselves going up and down the stairs. Also familiar with giving medication and contacting a vet if needs be.

I work from home, so have plenty of time to care for small dogs. Also as I walk a lot, there are lots of opportunities to get outdoors.
