Pet care experience
Use code HOLLYS16560 to get $20 your first booking if you’re new to Rover! Hi! My name is Holly and I am a full time caregiver for both two-legged and four-legged creatures. I have experience caring for animals of all sizes, from kittens and senior dogs to chickens and draft horses, and everyone in between. My mother in law is a veterinarian, which has given me access is learning expert advice and helped ensure my animals live long healthy lives. I have extensive experience administering various medications to dogs, cats, and chickens. We were so lucky to have our two senior dogs live to go over the rainbow bridge at 17.5 and 15, and I’d like to think we helped them age with grace, dignity, and compassion. I’m very familiar with fragile animals that might need some extra TLC and I am happy to provide references you can reach out. After becoming a full time parent to a medically complex child, I began helping neighbors with their animals while they traveled. This led me to officially offer my services through Rover and continue to expand my network to those in Missoula, the Bitterroot Valley, and for those just passing through. In addition to my caregiving, I am a professional artist (painter, photographer) and enjoy running, gardening, fly fishing, and zumba. My dedication to managing my daughter’s medical care has honed my attention to detail, reliable and quick communication, and commitment to providing the best life possible for my loved ones at all times. I believe it translates really well to the demands of this job. I have a lot of love to give and the time and space to make it happen. I’m excited to be able to offer my services to the Missoula community and I look forward to any questions you may have. Thank you for reading! Holly

How lucky are we to have people such as Holly on this planet! I could not hope for a better friend for my pup :) Will see you again next year!

Holly house sat with our 2 dogs for several days and was amazing. She was super proactive with communications, sent several pictures showing very happy dogs, was responsive and left the house as clean as we left it. We will most definitely use her again.

Excellent pet sitting experience. Holly took great care of our German shepherd and elderly cat. They didn’t even notice we were gone! She left the house as we left it and even washed the sheets. We definitely will use her again.

Holly did a great job taking care of my older cat and my house! She stayed with Myron for an extended house sit, and she kept me updated with everything that was going on and I could tell Myron was well taken care of when I got home. She even washed the sheets and remade the bed! I’d recommend Holly to anyone 😊

Safety, trust & environment
I have a fenced in yard with lots of good smells, a male 14 year old Australian shepherd, an old sweet indoor cat, and 5 backyard chickens. Safety is my first priority with everyone and everything. If your dog or cat has ever shown aggression towards other dogs, cats, or children. No judgment — we can work together to create a plan that ensures everyone is safe. My chickens are always locked safely in their coop while dog sitting (and currently until further notice due to avian flu conditions.) Please note: -There is additional charge for large dogs (75lbs+) including breeds like shepherd mixes, mastiff, huskies, hounds, labs, staffordshires, king corsos, etc. I LOVE big dogs and I know how much work they require! My pricing reflects my experience and ability to handle the (sometimes) small horses.

Information Holly S. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know if your pet has any special needs so I can accommodate during our time together. I am experienced in administering medications (oral, injectable, complex, etc) and have worked with pets with multiple needs, including seniors, diabetic, or post-op pets. My mother in law is a vet and my partner grew up learning animal care, so we’re well versed in it. It’s important for me to know your pet’s medical history (including behavioral), dietary restrictions or preferences, medications, veterinarian (main and emergency), and an emergency contact in case I can’t reach you. Thank you for understanding!
A typical day
I love taking dogs on long walks and runs if they’re up for it. We enjoy ‘reading the billboards’ (stopping for many smell breaks and going slow) and exploring new places. I often walk close to your home or If their diet allows, we can walk to Big Dipper for a pup cone! I start and end an activity with a zuke’s training treat (or two!) and use them (alongside a clicker if applicable) to incentivize good behavior during the service. I love helping train dogs to behave better. Whether your animal needs more stimulation or relaxation, I have a plan for it! We have puzzles and busy games or we can snuggle and read books together. This applies to both dogs and cats. Bonus: As a former professional photographer, you’ll get fun shots of your pet during their time with me!

Availability
I’m a full time caregiver to a special needs child, and with my child now in full day school, I have more availability. I also work as an artist out of my home studio. I am available for last minute bookings and understand that life happens, so if my schedule shows that I am available, please feel free to reach out. I also understand that plans can change after we have confirmed services, and I’m always happy to work with my new and returning clients to ensure a smooth experience with their four legged family members. Once a booking has been confirmed, my change and cancellation policy is the same as my last minute request policy which is as follows: -I kindly ask that new and returning clients try to send all booking requests 48 hours or more in advance. -For non-walking services booked, changed, or canceled, less than 72 hours prior to drop off, there will be a fee that is 25% of the total. -For changes or cancellations made 24-12 hours in advance, the fee is 50% of the original booking total. -Cancellations or changes with less than 12 hours notice will incur a 100% fee. This policy ensures a safe, transparent process, allowing me to give your pets the best care while respecting everyone’s time. I’m happy to discuss on a case by case basis. Please feel free to ask me any questions about this! For clients outside of Missoula, I am happily willing and able to travel but as we all know, gas, wear and tear on a vehicle, and time, all add up. There’s an $0.50 per mile fee for locations beyond city limits. (For Bitterroot folks, I calculate from the Silver Slipper on 93 to be the city limit. For those going north on 93 I calculate from Airway Boulevard.)
