Pet care experience

🧡 Licensed Home From Home Boarder Awarded to Higher Standards with BCP Council. 🧡 🏠🐶Welcome to Your Dog’s Home Away from Home🐶 🏠 We’ve owned, cared for, and absolutely adored dogs and animals for many years. My partner, a local electrician, grew up and worked on a farm alongside farm dogs, and he lends a hand when he’s home. We’ve been looking after many friends’ and family’s dogs during their holidays for years, and we’ve loved every minute of it, so much so, we’ve decided to open our home more regularly to furry guests! We like to make it a true Pamper Holiday for our visitors. To us, your beloved dog is a VIP. Our home is a relaxed detached house in a quiet cul-de-sac in Broadstone tucked away from main roads, complete with a secure, fenced garden. Dogs are welcome to treat our home as their own. We’re a chilled, easy-going family, but we’re happy to follow any routines or rules you have at home to help maintain consistency and comfort. We have two sons, now 18 and 20, who are completely obsessed with dogs and love having them around. Your pup will receive plenty of love, attention, and cuddles, but also space and quiet time when needed. The boys are often out and about, so the house is peaceful and calm throughout the day. We can’t wait to meet your precious pup and welcome them into our home like one of our own. We only host a small number of friendly and sociable dogs at any one time. Please take a look at our gallery of pictures to see the beautiful dogs we have cared for over the years. *** Please Note *** We kindly ask that all dogs coming to stay with us are up to date with their vaccinations, flea and worming treatment. This is to ensure a safe and healthy environment for your dog and other visitors in our care.

Helen is an excellent boarder and I would highly recommend her. She kept me updated on Evie regularly and is an experienced dog sitter.

Helen instilled absolute trust that Ginger was going to be well looked after. From the pictures she provided during her stay, we could tell that Ginger appeared excited for her walks, and happy with her stay. We're planning on having Ginger stay again in the future for when we go on holiday and would happily recommend Helen to other dog owners.

Helen was fantastic again. Lola loves visiting - as soon as I pulled up in front of Helen's house Lola got very excited. Helen communicates really well about booking and practical stuff; she sends daily photos and videos and she looks after Lola well. Because it was v hot, walks were early and involved lots of water to play in. She has lots of stimulating toys and Lola gets lots of sofa cuddles. Fab service all round.

Helen looked after our pup for 7 nights while we were on holiday. We were put at ease as soon as we met Helen, she clearly loves dogs and our pup was relaxed with her and her family from the very start. Nothing was too much trouble; Helen administered medication, was flexible about dates and also provided shorter walks and enrichment activities at home when a mobility issue (and very hot weather) prevented our pup from running around too much. We also received regular updates and photos whilst we were away so we knew our pup was in good hands. Thank you so much Helen & Family, we'll be in touch again when we next need a doggie holiday home :)

We are DBS checked, with certificates available for peace of mind. We both hold an Ofqual Level 2 Canine First Aid for Pets & Dogs certification and am currently studying for an Ofqual-regulated Level 3 qualification in Canine Care, Behaviour & Welfare for Home Boarding. We take the safety and wellbeing of our guests very seriously. When out walking, we like to choose quiet times and locations to avoid crowded areas and too many other dogs, especially important if your dog prefers space or doesn’t get along with others. We’re always cautious around unfamiliar dogs to ensure the ones in our care feel safe and secure. GPS trackers are used for walks. In line with Government Licensing conditions for stays over 3 nights a licenced boarder should have a trial / familiarization night booked through Rover to make sure your pup feels happy, content, and truly at home. We can also do some familiarization day care too if needed for pup to get used to us as new people and surroundings. Dogs happiness is always our top priority.

Information Helen S. would like to know about your pet

I would love to know; Dogs usual meal routine at home. Times and quantities. Any special requirements. How much they like to walk, play and sleeping habits. Where do they usually sleep Likes / Dislikes / Anxieties. Doggy’s personality / temperament at home and out in public. Any health issues / Allergies / medication needs. The more information the better.

A typical day

We’re lucky to live near some beautiful walking spots including Pocket Park, Woodlands, Broadstone Recreation Grounds, Upton Country Park, Heath Walks, Beaches and the Trailways, perfect for gentle strolls and fun sniffing adventures! It’s a real joy getting to know each dog’s unique personality and quirks, and we always miss them dearly when it’s time for them to go home. We love to include enrichment activities like snuffle mats, treat puzzles, and fun games, if your dog enjoys that kind of stimulation. To help your pup feel completely at home, we ask that you bring a couple of their favourite toys, their usual treats, their bed or blanket (something that smells familiar), and anything else you think might help them settle comfortably. Most dogs are happy sleeping in their own bed in our cosy lounge, or snuggled up on the sofa; because let’s face it, sofas are made for dogs! That said, we’re more than happy to follow your usual routine, whether that’s no furniture, upstairs cuddles, or whatever works best for your dog. If they’re used to sleeping upstairs with someone, we can usually accommodate that too, especially if they find it difficult to settle downstairs alone we would always let them come with us if they are finding it difficult to settle.. We’re very easygoing and will always do everything we can to make your dog’s stay with us as relaxed, comfortable, and happy as possible.
