Expérience en matière de services dédiés aux animaux de compagnie
I specialise in solo household dog walks.
I offer solo household dog walks (30 minutes or 1 hour) and pop-in visits. I also offer a house sitting service, to provide overnight and daytime company and care for your dog(s). Solo dog walks are ideal for those dogs who find a group walk too overwhelming or stimulating for them. They are also ideal for older dogs who struggle to keep up, or dogs who maybe prefer a slower, more sniffy pace. Puppies and young dogs benefit from a solo walk, as they are still in training and learning their manners. They won’t pick up any bad habits from other dogs on a solo walk! If your dog is reactive and can’t walk with others, or maybe has a specific training need such as pulling on the lead or hyper-focus on other dogs, I will work on this, using positive reinforcement, during our walk. Your dog will receive 100% of my focus during our time together. I will engage with them, play with them and help them learn in a positive way so they return home happy and both physically and mentally ready to rest. I have always loved dogs and have my own Papillon called Bandit. My first dog was a cocker spaniel and I’ve cared for nervous rescue dogs, fostered homeless pugs with health problems and volunteered with retired greyhounds looking for new homes. I noticed most dog walkers offer group walks, which can be somewhat uncontrolled and don’t teach a dog to focus on their human. The frantic pace and enforced proximity to lots of new dogs can lead to over arousal, whereas a walk should be a fun and relaxed activity for a dog. I often see the on-lead dogs on a group walk being dragged away from what they want to sniff or explore, in order to keep up with the running pack, which makes me sad, so I decided to offer this service for those dogs that need it.

Notes et avis
Helen looked after my elderly dog for the day who returned home very relaxed, clearly having had a fun day. Helen is very caring and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her as a dog sitter.
So so happy to have found Helen, I got to meet her and introduce our dogs prior to mine staying over. I was sent regular updates and Helen is so friendly, I just instantly knew Winnie would be in good hands!x

Helen is absolutely amazing with dogs , very knowledgeable on all their care needs and understanding of individual needs , whenever our dog is with Helen I know she is extremely well looked after and exercised . Helen is very passionate about dogs and there wellbeing and approachable about anything , I always feel relaxed when I know our dog is with her .
Helen took care of my nervous rescue dog Amber whilst I was on holiday. She has such a way with animals that Amber felt completely calm and settled really quickly. You can tell how much she loves dogs and how much they love her. She took time to understand Amber’s needs and specific requirements, and welcomed her like she was her own. Helen is a natural and I have absolutely no concerns leaving Amber with her again. She looks after her better than I do, which is what you want from a dog sitter!
I first met Helen when she offered to foster for Pug dog welfare. She is an amazing foster carer, she has looked after several pugs for us and given the utmost care and love. She is very conscientious and has provided a loving stable environment for all our foster Pugs. She has dealt with some difficult cases and has a lot of "doggy knowledge". I would certainly leave my pugs with her as i know she would look after them very well and is experienced to deal with any problems. Helen is very easy to get on with and a lovely warm person.

Dates de la garde
I will be as flexible as possible to work with the schedule you need. Walks will be tailored to the environment and learning style that best suits your dog. Reactive or fearful dogs will be walked in a quiet place where I can work on helping them feel more confident.

Sécurité, confiance et environnement
I only use positive reinforcement, using toys, treats or praise, depending on what works best for your dog. I never let a dog off the lead without your express permission and even then, not before I have built a trusting relationship with them.

Une journée type
Depending on what your dog likes and needs, I’ll engage with them through play and training. Maybe working their brain and nose finding treats or a toy hidden in the grass. Perhaps watching dogs from a distance and offering treats to change their emotional response. Maybe teaching them to walk on a loose lead through the promise of their favourite titbit or tug toy.
