I work remotely and am home almost all day, just leaving to run errands, head to a dance class, or visit with friends. Your dog will have nearly 24/7 care, only occasionally left alone.

I live on an acre and a half with a partially fenced-in lawn safe for quick potty breaks. A long leash would be helpful for playing in the yard, and I have plenty of space for your dog's crate to come with them. I live just a short drive from Preddy Creek and would be happy to take more active dogs for hikes to get their energy out (but lazier dogs will be comfy and cozy here, too). I prefer to take care of dogs in my own home, where I have my work set up, but am happy to stop by your place to water plants or pick up mail/packages if needed.

Let me know what your dog needs! I'm accustomed to dealing with dogs with separation anxiety or reactivity, special medical needs (my dog went blind later in life), high energy, or any other requests. Your dog can live by your rules in my house.
Un día normal
First thing in the morning, I'll let your dog out in my fenced-in garden and get your dog fed. The rest of the day depends on your dog's energy level! Senior dogs can snuggle up on the couch or nap in sun patches around the house, and higher-energy dogs can get hikes/long walks or some play time in the backyard.

Experienced Care. Happy Dogs.
Experiencia en el cuidado de mascotas
Dogs have always been a part of my life. I grew up with German Shepherds, adopted my own hound mix as soon as I could, and later took in my mom's reactive GSD when her Alzheimer's meant she couldn't care for her anymore. I lost both my dogs in 2024 - they were 15 and 13 - and haven't been ready to restart my pack quite yet. In the meantime, I've been dog sitting to get my canine cuddle fix. I've raised and trained puppies, handled anxious and reactive dogs, and administered all kinds of medications from eye drops to pills to subcutaneous fluids. My dogs survived every emergency you can think of, from spiking eye pressure to a GDV/bloat, until old age finally got them, so it's highly unlikely your dog would have an emergency or issue I wouldn't know how to handle. I'm the person my friends call when their dogs get sick, for pre-vet advice. I'll take great care of your furry kiddos.

Heather did an amazing job with my rescue girl. I was a nervous wreck leaving her but had to travel for work. My girl settled right in and I got the cutest updates. Heather knows how to deal with my quirky dork of a pup. She was patient with her and made her feel like she was home. My girl is tired and happy. I will definitely use Heather in the future for my boarding needs.

She was amazing! I received pictures and updates while our dog was in her care. It made me feel really at ease seeing my dog so relaxed and enjoying her home/property. She was even able to accommodate extending her stay due to our travel being delayed. I HIGHLY recommend her and will definitely be using her services again! Thanks again Heather!
Heather has watched my dog several times, including, most recently, a two-week stint while I was overseas. While I was on the other side of the world, it was such a relief to know that Willie was with someone I could trust. Willie isn't always the easiest dog, but Heather always does a great job with him. During the latest trip I got near-daily updates and photos of Willie looking peaceful and relaxed on the couch, enjoying himself on hikes and being goofy around the house. And the whole time I knew that Heather's previous experience with her own dogs meant that she was equipped to handle any emergencies that may have arisen. Willie was happy, relaxed and tired when I picked him up - exactly the mark of a good two weeks for him.
I highly recommend Heather to anyone looking for a thoughtful, caring, and conscientious dog sitter. She has taken care of my two Frenchies for years, including when one was an energetic puppy and the other a senior with medical needs. There’s no one I trust more than her with my dogs. She’s professional and communicative. My mind is at ease when she cares for my dogs because I know they are in such good hands.
