About Heather R.
Communication
Skills
Safety, trust & environment
The key to providing excellent care to animals is to treat them as if they are your own pet. I've handled, medicated, nurtured, and loved hundreds of animals I treated as my own to ensure they not only get the care they need, but get the very BEST care possible. Following instructions and communicating effectively for care is a skill of mine I've developed over my entire career.
Information Heather R. would like to know about your pet
Health and safety are priority for both parties. It's MANDATORY that I know if your animal has a bite history. We all want to avoid the emergency of an animal bite. Booking a meet and greet (if possible) for all animals prior to my service may make your pet feel more safe when seeing me again next and prevent injury. Please let me know if your pet(s) is not UTD with vaccines or feeling ill. Fears of any kind can be helpful to note so I can avoid it. Some fears may be: feet touching, food aggression, other animals, loud noises, etc. Any known allergies are always helpful to note as well.
A typical day
Fun for animals is receiving unlimited attention- and that's exactly what I'll do. I'm a very outdoors person, so long walks with several different views and smells is a must for me. Play time with toys, treats and cuddles will also be provided to ensure a great bond between every one of my clients!

Trustworthy Future Veterinarian
Pet care experience
Besides being raised around several types of animals- my experience truly started and expanded when I studied small animal care throughout high school, to then working in an emergency animal hospital for 3 years as a veterinarian assistant, to now being a current DVM student! My skills include but are not limited to walking, feeding, medicating, bathing, grooming and loving all types of animals.
Reviews
Heather dropped in to our house every other day while we were gone on vacation to take care of our cats and did a wonderful job. We were sent pictures of her playing with the cats each time she visited and a notice when she started and finished the visit. When we got home our cats were happy and well cared for and there was no mess from us being gone for so long. This is our first time using a pet sitter and I would absolutely use Heather again for our next trip.

Heather is very communicative and followed instructions very well. She took care of three of our cats, two requiring medication. The cats seem happy. We'd definitely be using Heather again in the future.

I couldn’t be happier with Heather . Incredible with my lab puppy selene . Selene adores her and always beyond happy to see her . I feel so comfortable knowing my puppy is in amazing hands ! Thank you heather for all you have done for us .

Heather and her friend were excellent! Incredibly responsive, friendly, and prepared! I appreciated her flexibility for a night before booking, her patience with my young pup, and the adorable pictures she sent from their walk!
