Pet Obsessed & Proud - 10+ Years of Loving Care
Pet care experience
I’ve been an animal lover my whole life, having grown up with two cats, Tiger and Jet, who we got when I was 10. Sadly, Jet passed away after a year, but Tiger lived a long and happy life, reaching the grand age of 18 before passing in January 2024. These days, I’m the proud mum of two Spanish rescue dogs: Bobby, who joined our family in January 2024, and Juan, who we adopted in October 2024. They’ve completely changed my world and taught me so much about the joys (and realities!) of full-time rescue dog life. Back in high school, I did work experience at a cattery and kennels, and for over 10 years I’ve lovingly cared for my best friend’s retired racing greyhounds: Lady, Reuben (her son), and now Honey - whenever they go on holiday. I still dog sit Honey to this day, and I love her so much. She is part of my family and I’m part of hers! I’ve also dog sat many times for my brother’s gorgeous working cocker spaniel, Goose, having her to stay for days at a time. She’s full of energy and personality, and we’ve had so many fun adventures together, from long walks and countryside rambles to relaxed pub visits and cosy evenings on the sofa! I’m fun, kind, reliable, and I genuinely prefer animals over people! Whether it’s cuddles on the sofa or long walks in the fresh air, your pet will be loved like one of my own ❤️

Reviews

Hattie is the first person we have used on Rover to look after Maya and it will not be the last time we ask her to sit! Her and her dogs made Maya feel so welcome and she loved her stay with them. We got regular messages and pictures which really made me feel comfortable that she is in good hands! Couldn’t recommend Hattie enough!
Hattie H has cared for our dogs (and home!) many times over several years. She is highly responsible and trustworthy and has a genuine and deep love of dogs. What is especially wonderful is that dogs love her too (even one of our dogs who is particularly shy and timid loves Hattie). We feel we can go away without worries, knowing our dogs and home are in safe hands with Hattie. I recommend Hattie as a dog-walker and/or dog-sitter without hesitation.

I live in a cosy flat with a small balcony that has a tall glass wall. My two dogs love spending a bit of time out there, but I’ll only allow guest dogs on the balcony if their owners are happy with it - and I’m more than happy to supervise them at all times for safety and peace of mind. Inside, your pup will feel right at home. I have a crate available if needed, plus plenty of soft dog beds to snuggle up in. The sofa and bed are absolutely not off limits - comfort is key, and cuddles are always welcome! I do prefer looking after dogs in my own home, as my dog, Juan, is a nervous rescue and doesn’t feel comfortable in unfamiliar environments or around strangers. That said, he gets on brilliantly with other dogs and loves having a furry friend or two around! I’m also happy to pick up local dogs to join us for walks or toilet breaks - since we head out every day, it fits naturally into our routine. And with enough notice, I may be able to dog sit overnight in your home without my two dogs, as long as my partner is available to stay with them while I’m away.

Information Hattie H. would like to know about your pet
To keep everyone happy and safe, I do require that any dogs mixing with mine are neutered, as my two don’t get along well with unneutered males. I also prefer to meet up with potential clients beforehand whenever possible - just a quick meet and greet to make sure our dogs get along and that you feel totally comfortable leaving your pup in my care. It’s important to me that everyone - two-legged and four-legged - feels good about the arrangement! Having a nervous rescue dog myself, I understand how important it is to recognise triggers, anxiety, and behavioural needs. Please don’t hesitate to let me know in advance about anything specific to your dog - whether it’s quirks, fears, routines, or how they like to be cared for. My goal is always to provide every dog with the love, support, and environment they need to feel happy, safe, and settled.
A typical day
A typical day in our home starts with a morning walk before cuddles and breakfast. As I work remotely, I’m home with the dogs all day. While I’m in meetings or focused on my computer, the dogs relax nearby - on the sofa, in one of the many beds, or soaking up the fresh air on our secure balcony (with supervision, if needed!). Throughout the day, we take regular breaks for toilet trips, treats, enrichment, and playtime. I would happily include visiting other dogs in our routine, whether a peaceful stroll, a bit of enrichment at home, or a good old-fashioned belly rub session. In the evening, we go for a longer walk to ensure every exciting smell has been sniffed and every tree has been claimed! Then we focus on winding down - more cuddles and naps in front of the telly, and lots of attention before bedtime.

Availability
I work remotely from home, so I’m always with my two boys. They get at least three walks a day, plenty of cuddles, tasty treats, and lots of chill time while I’m in meetings or working at my computer. I know how important routine, love, and companionship are for pets - because I live it every day.
