I'm flexible with timing and always aim to follow your pet's usual routine as closely as possible. I offer morning, afternoon and evening drop-in visits, as well as overnight house sitting. I confirm exact visit times in advance and keep them consistent throughout the booking, which helps cats and dogs alike feel settled and secure, especially those who rely on a predictable routine.

Safety, trust & environment

Your pet's safety and comfort are always my top priority. I follow all instructions exactly as provided and make sure doors, windows, gates and feeding areas are secure at all times. I maintain a calm, respectful presence in your home so your pet can stay in a familiar, stress-free environment rather than being uprooted. I also send regular updates so you always know how things are going while you're away.

Information Harriet G. would like to know about your pet

Before any booking, I like to know your pet's feeding routine, any litter or toileting preferences, behaviour traits and any medical needs or medication requirements. For dogs, it's also helpful to know walk routine, leash manners and how they behave around other dogs or people. For cats, I like to know litter preferences and any favourite hiding or hangout spots. In general, it helps to know how your pet responds to new people, whether they're shy or confident and if there are specific areas of the home they prefer or avoid. This all helps me provide the most consistent, stress-free care possible.

A typical day

A typical day depends on the pet. For cats, that means feeding, fresh water, litter tray cleaning and time spent reading their mood, offering play and attention if they're sociable or space if they prefer to be left alone. For dogs, it means sticking to their usual walk and toilet schedule, along with playtime, training reinforcement or simply company on the sofa, depending on what they enjoy and their energy levels. Across the board, I pay close attention to each pet's individual personality rather than taking a one size fits all approach, and I send updates and photos so you can see how they're settling in. For drop-in visits, I complete all essential care tasks, check on your cat's wellbeing and make sure everything is clean and comfortable before leaving.

Pet care experience

I've been around animals my whole life and currently share my home with my own Labrador and Cavapoo, so I understand first-hand what different breeds and sizes need day to day, from a Lab's energy to a Cavapoo's smaller size and routine. Friends and family have always trusted me with their pets, whether that's a quick check-in or a full house sit while they're away, and I know how much of a difference it makes for a pet to stay in their own home with their own routine rather than being uprooted. I have real experience with pets who need a bit more patience, including anxious or reactive dogs who need a calm, steady presence and clear boundaries rather than pressure. I'm comfortable reading body language and adjusting my approach so nervous pets feel safe rather than overwhelmed. I'm also confident with puppies and kittens, from basic house training and crate routines to gentle socialisation, and equally experienced with senior pets, including administering medication, managing mobility issues and keeping an eye out for changes that owners should know about. Whether it's a drop-in visit or a full house sit, you can expect close attention, honest updates and a pet who's genuinely cared for in the comfort of their own home.

Harriet was brilliant with pippa, I had plenty of up dates and pictures so we knew she was in good hands. We'd definitely use her again in the future.
