Pet care experience
As a pet parent and previous employee at a few local doggy daycares, I know how important it is to find a reliable caretaker who will shower your pets with the love they deserve and take their wellbeing seriously. To keep you in the loop of each drop-in visit/walk/petsitting stay, I will provide frequent visual and written updates about your pet, so you can see exactly what he or she is up to! Here are a few more details about me, my experience, availability, and overall approach to pet care. Pet Care Experience - 5 years on Rover (2017-2019; 2021; 2023), providing walks, drop-in visits, and pet-sitting stays for dogs and other types of animals (cats, rodents, etc) - 2 years working in doggy daycares, where I cared for small, medium, and large-sized dogs with varying energy levels, temperaments, and medical needs. I was responsible for administering oral medication, delivering meals, and monitoring energy and body language to detect signs of stress or illness. - 14 years of being a pet parent and forming wonderful bonds with my greyhound and golden retriever. - I am familiar with positive reinforcement techniques, which help dogs develop good manners and bond more closely with their humans 🐶 - I’m also an advocate for activities that combine mental and physical stimulation, such as fetch, agility, and flyball

Thank you Grace! You really helped me last minute!! Murphy is sleeping like a baby now :) Would absolutely recommend and definitely have you walk him anytime!

Grace was awesome, lots of communications. Very professional. We felt comfortable knowing she was taking care of our dog. Would definitely hire or recommend her.

Grace is always amazing with our old girl. Very lucky to have found such a great sitter.

My first meeting with Grace showed me right away how much she cared about my dog by her attention to detail. For just a dog walk, Grace sent multiple photos and even a video. Grace went above and beyond making sure my dogs needs were met. I feel confident in leaving my dog in her care

How I Care For Your Pets - Trustworthy, reliable care: I'll set up a meet-and-greet with you and your pets to get an idea of their needs and ensure that I can provide what he or she needs for a visit/stay. When petsitting, I try to structure your pet's day similarly to their usual daily routine, to help them feel a little more at ease in your absence. - Frequent, detailed communication: For every walk, I make sure to send photos letting you know where we wandered and how much your dog enjoyed the trot! For drop-in sessions and long-term stays, I’m often able to send even more (since these are primarily indoors and technically "safer" environments for your pet). - Perceptive to your pet's needs and wellbeing: I update parents on any changes I notice in your pet's mood, energy, behaviour, appetite, as well as any progress on long-term goals that we have previously discussed (ex. leash-walking manners, begging, etc).
Information Grace T. would like to know about your pet
Some things I want to know beforehand are: - Your pet's general temperament (friendliness, play style, energy level, likes/dislikes) - Their comfort level with strangers and other pets they may encounter on walks - Any relevant medical concerns For dog owners interested in walks or short trick training sessions, please let me know: - If your dog has any food preferences/allergies/intolerances - What items you can provide (ie. leash, gentle leader, harness, kong, enrichment toys, etc).
A typical day
- Get moving: A tired dog is a happy dog, which is why I prioritize getting your dog out every day and giving them a chance to sniff all the new, exciting scents they want! - Fun-first mentality: Sometimes walks aren’t enough — so, depending on their individual needs, interests, and energy level, I like to incorporate active play into your pet's day (ex. hide-and-seek, fetch, etc) and time for cuddles too, to make your pet's day brighter while you're away. - Mentally-stimulating activities/games: For pets who enjoy a mental challenge, I’m happy to incorporate sessions to practice fun tricks or, for longer stays, freeze your pet's kibble/any other yummy treats you're able to provide and supervise them while they work away at it.
