Retired man devoted to his dog.
I am retired and spend my days with my Beagle Sunny and our 3 cats, Bruno, Waffle and Mocha. Sunny and I go for several walks a day depending on the weather and often go walking along the Rideau River. Sunny is very friendly and gets along well with other dogs. When walking with my dog, I always ensure I have water with me for warmer weather and a supply of bags to clean up and be a responsible dog owner. We often travel 4 to 6 kilometers per walk when weather permits. My wife and I live alone with our pets in a 3 bedroom town home that has a small fenced in backyard. As I am retired, I am available during the day. My wife currently works part time and enjoys to go for walks with Sunny and I as often as she is able. I also enjoy spending what free time I have playing guitar and making music as well as photography. I also enjoy working on websites and helping my community by participating in our community association.

Gerald was always punctual and let me know if he was running late. Maggie really needed some walks and Gerald made a difference in her daily life and I’m thankful for that. I will be using Gerald in the future.

I do not take more than one pet at a time so I am able to provide adequate attention to all the pets in our home. I feel taking in multiple dogs or cats would be unfair to our pets as well as the dog or cat I am caring for. I want those who entrust their family member to my care be assured they will be an equal part of our family during their stay.

I have a small, fenced in back yard if required, but I generally take my dog out every few hours for a walk. We have an air cleaner in the house to keep the air filtered as well as an air monitoring system to ensure air quality is within acceptable limits. I also vacuum and wash floors as often as necessary to ensure our home remains clean and dust free. We have multiple dog beds and have water bowls on each floor that are refreshed multiple times each day.

I often walk my dog along the Rideau River. We often make our way to the dog park near the Stankey Bridge. With the new dog enclosure recently built at Riverrain Park, we now go there at times for a change in scenery and to interact with different dogs. As I have a Beagle, I only let him off-leash in an enclosed area as he tends to be very attracted to scents.
