I am recently retired from a career I loved, so have plenty of time to take on new roles caring for other people’s best friends as I would my own. I am mostly available weekdays, but weekends are possible with notice…let’s discuss! Also happy to house-sit out of my area if it is someplace I’d like to visit. That doesn’t mean super-touristy places…I love exploring!

I live with two cats who are fed twice daily, plus treats. One is pilled regularly. I am fully aware of the fact that individuals have differing needs and will follow all stated directions, while at the same time recognizing the need to “take charge” in an emergency situation.

The more I know ahead of time about your dog or cat, the happier I will be, and the happier they will be. I think having your parents away and having a stranger come in is stressful, so I want to start with knowing their regular routine, then add on the parts that will make me “Fun Uncle Gary!”

I will take my cues from you as the owner to make the experience as familiar as possible for your pets. If they like to play ball, I can do that. If they just need quiet comfort, that’s OK too.

I have lived with cats for 30-years, and have volunteered in animal care for both cats and dogs at an abandoned pet rescue for over five years. I often watch pets for friends and neighbors. Recently-retired at age 57, I’m still young enough to keep up with the animals. Happy to drop in for feeding and cleaning, dog-walking, and pilling, as well as overnight stays.

Could ask for a better sitter than Gary. Gary made me feel that he genuinely cared for my Dog, genuinely cared for my space and could not have communicated better. Book with confidence.
Gary does an amazing job taking care of my fur babies! When I know I'll be gone from the house all day and need someone to let the pups out to pee, I can rely on Gary to help. He's reliable, has great communication + has been very flexible with my schedule.
This was my first time with a cat sitter and Gary put me at so much ease. I trusted his judgement, but he checked in when he had direct questions about something I might have forgotten. I didnt understand the Rover check in messages at first but came to really look forward to pics and updates about my girls. He was also soooooo good with my girls. I have two cats. One is usually a little shy at first and takes time to approach people. But she was very comfortable rolling over and slow blinking for gary within 10 minutes of him stepping into my apartment. It was comforting knowing my girls were enjoying some parts of my time away with Gary there to provide them some comfort and company.
Gary was recommended by 2 of his clients that we personally know. We could not be more appreciative of the introduction. Gary was all that they said and more. His caring nature is evident on first meeting. After watching our Prince for 2 weeks we come to understand that this is not just a job for Gary but a calling. Prince could not have been in better hands. The updates (twice daily) were detailed and comforting to traveling pet parents. His watchful eye was not only on Prince, but on the house as well. He alerted us to a household issue that could have become problematic if left unchecked. You cannot go wrong trusting your furry loved one to Gary.
