Hi, I’m Freya, an Australian currently living in Bordeaux. Animals have always been a huge part of my life, especially dogs. I grew up with a sheepdog when I was young, and after he passed away, my family welcomed a schnauzer-poodle cross named Licorice into our lives. She was such a loving and playful dog and truly part of our family. Because my parents travelled often, I was usually responsible for caring for Licorice for extended periods of time, so I’m very comfortable with the daily responsibilities that come with looking after a dog independently. Towards the end of her life, she also required medication morning and night, which gave me experience caring for older dogs with extra needs and routines. I’m someone who genuinely enjoys spending time with animals, whether that’s going for long walks, keeping them company at home, or making sure they feel calm and comfortable while their owners are away. I also have many friends with dogs, and I’m often the person they ask to dog sit for them because they know I’m reliable, patient, and caring. I understand how important it is to trust the person looking after your pet, and I’d always care for your dog as if they were my own.

As I’m currently only offering pet care in clients’ homes, my priority is making sure pets feel comfortable, safe, and relaxed in their own familiar environment and routine. I understand that pets can become stressed when their owners are away, so I aim to provide calm, attentive, and reliable care while maintaining the routines they’re used to. I’m happy to follow feeding schedules, walking routines, playtime, medication requirements, and any specific instructions provided by owners. I also make sure pets receive plenty of companionship, affection, and attention while respecting their individual personalities and boundaries. I’m a very clean, respectful, and organised person, and I always treat clients’ homes with care and professionalism. I also know how important communication is, so I’m happy to provide regular updates and photos for peace of mind while you’re away.

Schedule
I recently moved to Bordeaux from Australia to study abroad, and my university semester has now finished, which means I currently have a very flexible schedule and plenty of availability for pet sitting and walks throughout the week. Because I’m not tied to a strict 9–5 schedule at the moment, I’m able to give pets lots of attention, companionship, and consistency during the day rather than only being available mornings or evenings. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals, so pet sitting fits very naturally into my lifestyle here in Bordeaux. I’m available for daytime care, overnight stays, walks, feeding routines, medication if required, and last-minute bookings when possible. I’m also very communicative and understand how important updates and reliability are when someone is trusting another person with their pet.
