Cat and Exotic Pet "Whisperer"
Pet care experience
Hi, I'm Ness. I have prior experience in pet care working for Paw Prints Pet Care, Petsmart, and Petland. I've owned and cared for nearly every kind of animal - cats, birds, fish, rodents, reptiles, and arachnids. I live here in Syracuse with 3 aquariums and about 15 tarantulas! I've been described by my clients as a "cat whisperer" and my bosses as a "tarantula and fish expert." I love animals and am always trying to learn more about them. I will visit either once or twice a day, can drive up to 30 minutes out of the city, and willing to pet sit just about anything except dogs. Services provided will vary depending on the needs of your animal. I also provide overnight stays and boarding (for single cats only) - get in touch with me for more information. Don't worry about who's going to play with your cat or feed your bearded dragon crickets while you're out - hire me and have a stress-free time away knowing your fuzzy, feathery, or scaly friends will be well taken care of!

Safety, trust & environment
I petsit in your house to make sure your pet is in a safe and familiar environment. Every petsit also includes some house-sitting services - I'll take in your mail, make sure your doors and windows are locked and curtains closed, change the batteries in your smoke detectors if they start to beep, etc. I can also send you photo updates of your pets if you'd like!
Information Emma B. would like to know about your pet
If your cat needs any oral medication, has any favorite toys, ways to pet/handle them, hiding spots I should look for them at if I can't find them, etc.
A typical day
When I sit a cat, I'll usually take care of their food, water, and litter first, then move onto enrichment - about 15 or so minutes of interactive play and/or pets and cuddles if the cat wants. If the weather is nice and your cat is harness-trained and wants to go out, we can even take a quick walk! I'll assess their health and take some photos of them for you, if you'd like. If your cat isn't feeling up to playing or petting, I'll use that time to deep-clean water fountains, bowls, or litter boxes if needed, and just spend time in the same room talking and slow blinking at them to get them used to my presence. For exotic pets, every species is different - animals that need play and interaction like parrots or rats will get a similar time investment to cats, rodents will get their cages and accessories spot-cleaned or deep-cleaned as needed, aquariums will get their water tested daily and changed weekly, and reptiles and invertebrates can be fed live insects and/or fresh greens, and checked over for shedding or molting. We can speak about this before my first sit to determine what you'd like me to do for your exotic animal!
