Pet care experience
Hi, My name is Emily! I'm from Delaware and have done dog sitting through Rover.com for quite sometime now and love it. I also have 10+ years in professional pet care. I did a year with Rover before moving to Florida where I worked as a kennel technician, certified professional dog trainer, kennel supervisor and asst kennel manager. I also have a small amount of veterinary experience. I worked with a rescue and fostered dogs for a year. Since I’ve been back home and am a stay at home mom I have created my own successful insured business in the care and training of any and all dogs I absolutely love it! I also foster with Grass Roots Rescue and put on fun events for my clients doggos to help raise money. They are a blast. Why I love dog sitting I have been a dog lover my whole life. I have had a family dog as far back as I remember. My past has shaped my passion for the care and training of dogs. Dogs bring so much love joy loyalty honesty and devotion to life, who wouldn’t want to make it their career. About my yard My back yard is completely fenced in with a 6 foot privacy fence. We even have indoor and outdoor cameras as well as an entryway yard and gate for added security. There are many trees so it's pretty cool and shady on hot summer days and plenty of room to explore. And for all you senior pet owners we have a huge handicap ramp leading to my back kitchen door. If you want your dogs to play with others it will be supervised and I’ll give you a full report on how they did. We also go on pack walks daily, weather permitting. A tired dog is a good dog. Want a bath and nail trim before they go home? Just let me know and consider it done. My home is a bi or split level home and I have dedicated one level to my dog care business. Spacious private areas have been mapped out for any dog or family of dogs so they may eat their meals, take breaks and sleep in their own space. I have it set up this way in case there’s any pups who don’t like other dogs, if certain dogs don’t get along or owners who don’t want their dog around other dogs. On the other hand, if your dog is not enjoying their area we can and will make any special accommodations necessary to provide a fun and stress free stay. My options are extensive for every pet parent. My experience administering medication is extensive. I can give just about any medication. Including insulin if needed. My certifications include pet CPR and first aide and professional dog trainer. I have also attended and graduated from multiple Cesars Way courses. In Fort Lauderdale and his ranch in California. Just an FYI, Starting June 17th 2025 Rover will be increasing their fees and 20% of what the client pays will go to them.
Reviews

Emily took great care of our pups while we were away! We appreciated her updates and had peace of mind knowing they were comfortable and having fun. Would recommend!

Emily was very accommodating and knew exactly how to care for my initially timid little girl. Great communication and pictures with updates were much appreciated. Will definitely book again when needed. Highly recommend!

My puppy is a shy rescue baby so I brought him to Emily for socialization. She had him out of his shell with other dogs within minutes. It was amazing and we’re going to be back often.

Emily was very flexible and communicative. Our dog had a great stay.

You dog will have their own spacious area, where they will sleep, eat and rest. I follow a schedule where your dog will be let out at least 5 times a day, to go for a walk or play outside or to go potty. But, if your dog is having trouble settling in and prefers to free roam, I can and will make any changes in accommodations to make them more comfortable. I have calming music playing at all times as well as essential oil diffusers going with calming scents to provide the ultimate stress free stay. As far as dogs on the furniture. I go by what you tell me. There is no option like that to choose when creating my profile.

Information Emily M. would like to know about your pet
I have no breed preferences. And I will host non neutered and non spayed dogs as well as females in heat, dogs who don’t get along with other dogs and those fearful of strangers and/or may have a bite history. I would like to know of any behavioral issues, training you would like me to continue while they are here and of course likes or dislikes! If your dog wears an electronic collar please explain how you would like me to expedite the use of it, including: time of day, behaviors it is to be used for, as well as how it is used in terms of collar functions (beep, vibrate and shock) and what levels they are to be set at. There are many different kinds of these collars and they are not to be handled lightly so it’s important to me that clients be as specific as possible. Please let me know if your dog has any allergies as I love to give extra treats from my own stash. What to bring? Food, medication, leash. Treats. Any favorites really to help them settle in. But I have everything, bowls, toys, beds, blankets, treats. Crates if needed.
A typical day
Everybody who boards with me will get the option to go on walks, depending on the weather and availability in congruent with influx of business. I also allow one on one play or group play depending on how you dog is with other dogs amd if that’s something you are interested in. All play and dog to dog interactions are supervised. I also Periodically host themed events for my clients and their dogs to help raise money for the rescue I foster for. I often (with permission) use puzzle feeders and frozen stuffed kongs to help with any downtime. During the summer, I have many puppy pools out and available to beat the heat.
