Dog Trainer With a Passion
Hi, I’m Emily! I own Sweet Southern Dog Training and have been professionally training dogs for over 7 years. I’ve worked with countless clients and their dogs, helping them build strong, positive relationships. I joined Rover to fill my life with even more dogs— my passion truly revolves around them! Before dog training, I gained valuable experience working at a dog daycare and a veterinary hospital, where I learned about dog behavior and health. I’m also certified in pet CPR and first aid, ensuring I can provide a safe and knowledgeable environment for every dog in my care. At home, I have four dogs: Stella, Alaric, Bayou, and Daisy. We stay active with hiking and competing in AKC sports like Fast CAT, barn hunt, and dock diving.

Emily did an excellent job taking care of my dogs and I was very happy with this service. I will definitely use this service again and I thank Emily for all she did. I had peace of mind that my dogs were well cared for.
This was our first time using Emily and she was amazing with our sassy Dolly! We were impressed from the meet and greet to the time we picked Dolly up after our trip. Her pictures, videos, feedback, and concerns let us know that we left Dolly with the perfect sitter! We will definitely use her again.
My three crazy pups had a blast with Emily! One of my dogs is anxious whenever I leave her somewhere new, but Emily had great patience with her and in the end Lizzie was playing well with the other dogs Emily had at the time! I will definitely boo with Emily again in the future!
Emily was awesome!!! She was very attentive to my Colby and it was a pleasure to work with her! I will definitely be using her again!
Sam stayed with Emily for a couple of weeks for training. She did a great job with him! She has boarded him a few times since then because I travel for work often. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my crazy boy!
I boarded my dog with Emily when I planned to go out of town for vacation. She took such great care of Dallas! I even opted to have Dallas trained while I was gone, and Emily did such a wonderful job with her. Dallas had so much fun!

Pet care is central to my day. I follow a structured schedule for feeding, walks, playtime, and downtime, ensuring every pet’s needs are met consistently.

At home, I maintain a calm and safe environment while having a structured routine for feeding, exercise, and downtime. I also maintain a clean and pet-proofed space to avoid hazards. In clients’ homes, I respect their instructions and ensure the pet feels comfortable and well cared for. I communicate frequently with updates and photos to reassure owners their pet is in good hands!
Pets
A typical day
Stimulating dogs physically and mentally is so important! We will play brain games (puzzles and snuffle mat). If your dog is good on leash, we will go on walks in my neighborhood and/or a nearby lake to get all the smells in, and by request, I can introduce them to the dog treadmill to really get in some great stimulation!
