I am a Geologist with the Forest Service in Idaho City, where I also live. I work full time from 8-4:30pm in the office. The summer months I have very little capacity for dogsitting because of field work and I am involved with working wildfires.

With pets in my home I am happy to give them free reign of the place! Please let me know if your dog has a habit of chewing items or counter surfing. When staying at a client's home, I am attentive to the pets, can provide walks and play-time, and I make sure to leave the house cleaner than I find it. Because I have grown up with pets and played an active part in taking care of them, I am in-tune to animals behavior.

A typical day
I am an active person so I'd love to take your dog on a hike or walk. I also like to run so if your dog is capable I'd love to go on a run with your dog. One of my favorite things to do is bring a dog to a lake for some swimming in the summer.

Pet care experience
I grew up with animals my entire life (dogs, cats, horses), and I finally got my own dog this year, a loving and friendly golden retriever. I still love to petsit for others. I have done pet sitting through rover for 6+ years and I have experience with horses through my childhood. I cleaned a horse barn every weekend during highschool and learned how to handle them.

Emily did a great job of taking care of our cat and dog while we were away! She was responsive, sent pictures, and left the house in good order. She was able to accommodate our shy pup and take her on a little socializing adventure too!
Emily is GREAT with animals! The first time I met Emily, she told me all about the animals she grew up with and how much joy they brought her. I would trust Emily fully with a pet because I know she values animal exercise, love, and attention. I am also a pet sitter on occasion and when I cannot watch a pet, Emily is the first person that I reference my clients to.
