10 years experience in professional animal care

Pet care experience

I’ve worked in the animal care business on and off for 10 years, working with dogs and cats of all varieties. On a personal level, I’ve grown up with larger dog breeds, such as German Shepherds and Dobermans. I’m professional and capable and will ensure that your pet is walked / cared for properly. I was taught the importance of doing this job correctly from a young age, and I cannot stand seeing dog walkers bundle multiple dogs into a van or sitters staying for all of 10 minutes to cut corners and make more money. I enjoy exercising regardless and so dog walking seems like the obvious answer!

Lyra well cared for and enjoyed a fuss (and she is a very particular cat!). I was kept updated and Elise always friendly and polite.

Elise was very professional, polite and respectful and most importantly Poe had a great time with her, and was noticeably happier than if he'd been to the kennels. She came to see us beforehand to meet him and check about any dietary or medical issues. We went through the routine and any quirks with the house. On the day we left she turned up early to make sure she and Poe could hang out a little before we left and made sure we didn't get delayed leaving. Whilst we were away, she kept in touch, letting us know how he was getting on, walks they'd been on and generally giving us peace of mind. There was storm Darragh whilst we were away and it was good to know that she was there to keep on top of any issues and that Poe wasn't in a draft kennel. When we returned she left the house clean and tidy and even washed her towels before we came back. Would happily recommend and rebook.

Thank you for being massive help in looking after Poppy! This was my first time using Rover and leaving her for an extended period of time so was a bit nervous. You were an absolute star in giving regular updates and photos, and responded quickly to my messages. I am also so grateful that you were happy to look pop over for a pre-visit, just to see the cat and talk through things face to face, really helped put my mind at ease. I will definitely get in touch if Poppy ever needs looking after again! 🧡

Information Elise L. would like to know about your pet

Any relevant medication, history, etc. If a dog, how they react to other dogs and people so that I can be aware of how best to walk them.

A typical day

Not all dogs require the exact same style of walking. Some may be older, and need more mental stimulation than a full 30 mins/hour of walking. This could include playing games or taking a slow walk to enjoy being out whilst being mindful of their physical capabilities. For more energetic/younger dogs, taking them on longer distance walks to new locations is always sure to burn some energy from both the walking itself and the exciting new location!

Availability

I work remotely, so I would be able to be with your pets from 9-5 each day. During this time I would be on a laptop, of course, but on hand to let any pets outside or if they require somebody around more often. This would also include a walk at lunch, if needed, and after work - depending on the usual routine.
