Home FT, 1 dog family/day!
Pet care experience
I grew up with a menagerie of pets including dogs, cats, birds, hamsters and horses and each of them was treated as a member of the family. As an adult, my dog experience spans over 20 years. In addition to assisting with training my parents’ dogs, I raised my 2 dalmatians for over 15 years. I also worked as a PT obedience instructor for PetSmart and a pet sitting service in PA, Pet Nanny, prior to recently moving to NJ. I have experience with rescue dogs as well as training/showing in obedience and agility matches. One of my girls achieved her Canine Good Citizen and Therapy Dog certifications from TDI. I only mention my “human” training to let owners know that I am experienced in using positive reinforcement to maintain and encourage good behavior. I actively participate in educational opportunities on dog training, behavior and health.
Reviews

Donna is very attentive to Abby’s needs and goes above and beyond!! would highly recommend donna.

We are very happy to have found Donna to take care of our dog. He received excellent care with her and she provided frequent communication and photos/videos throughout the day. We will definitely reach out to her for future stays.

Thank you again Donna for taking such great care of my fur babies yet again. We had a worry free 2 week vacation knowing that they were in your hands. Both my husband and I looked forward to the daily dose of pup antics with your updates and videos. Thank you. I will continue to highly recommend your service.

Donna was great! She sent me regular updates with photos and videos that truly demonstrated a happy pup! She picked up on some of the particular mannerisms which signals that she really tunes in to the dog. I felt confident at all times that Donne actually knows about dogs. She played games with her and even worked on some agility activities with Wiggle. Given Donna's set up, her approach, her willingness to adapt to Wiggle's quirks (e.g., counter surfing when back turned, digging on the couch) and the knowledge she shows about what is safe for dogs and what not (even other possibly ill mannered neighborhood dogs) I felt reassured that Wiggle would be absolutely safe with her. All these things are not a given and I generally have a hard time leaving my baby with strangers. Wiggle came back not only looking great and healthy, but in a good mood. She is looking forward to her next stay with Donna!
About Donna R.
Communication
Skills
Safety, trust & environment
I only accept 1 client family at a time and have no other pets or people living here, which creates a safer and less stressful environment while your pups are away from home. Owner provided food is required because it decreases intestinal issues and is one less adjustment for them. For your dog’s safety, they will be crated whenever I am out. I have extra large crates and multiple dog beds available, or you are welcome to bring yours. I can administer oral and external (ie ear, eye, coat) treatments, but not injectables. I live in a small ranch, so there are no stairs once inside and they will have the run of the home. I will be present in the fenced yard any time they are outside. To maintain a healthy canine environment, I require vaccinations to be up to date and well as heartworm, flea and tick preventative treatments.
Home
Information Donna R. would like to know about your pet
I require a Meet & Greet in my home prior to the first visit. At that time, I will review past/current medical conditions and medications, typical potty/sleeping/eating schedule, food restrictions/allergies, physical sensitivities/restrictions, behavior challenges, known commands, Microchip info, vet and emergency contact info. I have no breed restrictions but will not accept aggressive dogs.
A typical day
I enjoy engaging dogs in games, puzzle toys, basic training, as well as fetch/water shenanigans, weather permitting, in my fenced yard. It is my experience that mentally stimulated and exercised dogs are happier and better behaved. I will provide a minimum of 2 updates/photos per day.

I am home full-time, aside from running errands (max 2 hours). I am able to care for up to 2 dogs, from the same family. I always leave 1 day in between clients to accommodate for travel delays/cleaning.
