Pet care experience

* We take unneutered dogs 18 months old or less in breeds with mild temperaments! * We do not take purebred Pit Bulls. We CAN take mixed breeds, however! —— Hello, we’re Mike and Dominique, and we've been taking care of dogs for many years now. We’ve had 4 dogs of our own, each growing well into late adulthood and giving us the gift of many years with them. They have all passed now, and we miss them terribly! We’ve learned a great deal about various medical ailments in caring for them in their twilight years, namely diabetes. We are also familiar with kidney disease, CHF, CCD (dementia), and hypothyroidism. We are very comfortable with wound care, be it ‘hot spots’ or other skin conditions that require dressing changes or other attention. 💫One or both of us is HOME 🏡 FULL-TIME ☮️ Our goal is to provide the ultimate pet care, and for you to enjoy your time away with peace of mind. 🚐 We offer PICK UP and DROP OFF services! Note: if you’re new to Rover and end up booking with us, ask for our promo code for $20 off 💵 Se habla Español 🇵🇷 - Mike and Dominique

Dominique and Michael were great! We have 2 dogs and one is diabetic. They gave me complete confidence they were in good hands. She is very communicative, detailed and caring. I got updates and pictures during the day so I could see the fun they were having. Highly recommend!

We can’t thank Dominique enough for the amazing care she gave our sweet Wilhelmina while we were away on vacation. From the moment we left, we knew she was in loving and capable hands. Dominique kept us updated with photos and messages, making it so much easier to be apart. Wilhelmina clearly adored her time with Dominique — she was happy, relaxed, and well cared for when we returned. It’s such a comfort knowing there’s someone so trustworthy, attentive, and genuinely caring to look after her. We highly recommend Dominique and Michael to anyone looking for a truly wonderful dog sitter!

Safety, trust & environment

SAFETY, TRUST, & ENVIRONMENT Outdoor🪴 We have a 6-foot fence around our yard, and attend dogs consistently outdoors. Outings are frequent and limited in time during the hottest parts of the day, and longer in the cool of the morning and evening. Indoor 🏠 Dogs are free-roam, and have the run of the house. Our shy dogs love to lay in a bathroom or bedroom during the day, while the more social butterflies like to hang out on the couch and common areas. Water stations are throughout the house, and are filled frequently with clean ice 🧊 water 😂 🐶 🐶 🐶 🐶 Most of our clients are long-time regulars, knowing each other like family. You can count on your dog’s safety being our top priority. 🧼 You can count on your dog going home in the same condition they came- not dirty!! ☺️. We guarantee your dog will either not get dirty or will be bathed 🛀, free of charge! AGGRESSION: We cannot take dogs with any history of aggression. ANXIETY: We cannot take dogs with moderate-severe separation anxiety. Food 🥘 Please bring your dog’s food for his or her stay; this is really all you need. We accommodate most any diets. Dogs are strictly observed during meals and are not given an opportunity to take the food of others (or to quarrel about it). Sleep 🛌 Dogs under 10 pounds are allowed on the bed. All other dogs may have the couch or any other space in the house! We have a few large, very comfortable memory foam dog beds. We wash bedcovers between clients, and replace the memory foam every couple of years when it is worn out. If you have a routine to crate your dog at night, we have crates set up for this and will stick to your routine.

Information Dominique & Michael Q. would like to know about your pet

🏥 Medical Needs: We can accommodate many medical conditions, provided they are stable. We cannot accept dogs whose conditions are brittle/unstable in that the dog, by our judgment, seems to be at the end of his or her life; a medical facility would be safer in such a time. We understand that emergency trips come up for pet parents at all times, and it's out of anyone's control if that happens when your dog is very ill or on hospice. You're welcomed to contact us and we can talk through options. Diabetes is our specialty!! If your dog has diabetes, we’ll conduct a ‘working’ meet and greet to become familiar with your testing and dosing routines. We can accommodate set dosing or sliding scales, and are familiar with both veterinary and human insulin. Working meet and greets are still free of charge. Final Word ✏️ Please fill out all special instructions in your dog’s profile. We read all of it and ensure we are informed of and prepared for each stay. All medications pertinent to care will need to be listed before booking (antibiotics, etc). Dogs don't have to be social, they just need to be able to share space with one another and be at peace. Many of our clients are solitary by nature and love to spend time alone or with people most, but they are also very pleasant around other dogs when present. We value our working relationship with you and your dog(s), and you can count on our transparency and quality care.

A typical day

🐕 Exercise: Your dog will get plenty of playtime! We maintain a great lawn in the back and keep the yard very clean. Fetch is a big favorite, and some dogs like water games with the hose. Either way, your dog is likely to go home worn out 😴 🥘 Meals: Breakfast is around 8 am, and Dinner around 5 pm. These times can be amended for your dog if you have other needs, but breakfast isn’t served before 7 am. If you prefer your dog to be fed separately, this is easily accommodated. There is a period of rest after meals to prevent Bloat in susceptible breeds. 🪴 Outside Time: We garden a lot! Visiting dogs spend some time in the early mornings with us in the garden. They really seem to enjoy the different trees. We have no toxic plants.
