I believe and use the saying “Dogs don’t speak English they speak energy.” I know it sounds corny, but we all know it’s true! Safety precautions with all animals is taught to us who work in animal care to ensure safety and comfort most especially during walks, or medical treatment. My daily practice includes monitoring temperature, pulse, and respiratory rates to the size, breed, and age of the dog to remain safe battling this Las Vegas heat. Fear Free approach and handling are a natural part of my animal care technique.

A typical day at work will find me enriching our shelter dog’s environment, assisting with spay/neuter surgeries, dental, and administering medications orally/optically/injections, and assisting the medical staff. On an average day off you can find me hiking with our two huskies, going for a bike ride or the gym and relaxing by the pool with my latest knitting project and audio book.

Hi there! My name is Dominic. And I am a certified Veterinary Assistant, working at our local Las Vegas animal shelter. I am in training to become a licensed Vet Tech. I love working with dogs, cats, and smalls of all ages, sizes, and personalities administering medical care and behavioral treatments. I would love the chance to meet and possibly be part of your pet’s life!

Dominic was fantastic with our fur babies while we were traveling for our destination wedding. He took the time to do a meet and greet ahead of the actual booking. Our younger dog was nervous at first, but they are best friends now. He even took the responsibility to water our many houseplants! Dominic communicates well, and is very knowledgeable and professional. We would definitely recommend him for any trip big or small.
Very friendly with Krypto, our cat. It was this first time away from us and Dominic did a great job.

We invited Dominic to our home to do an initial meet/greet with our new puppy. He was sweet and gentle with her. We also felt Dominic was very respectful of our home, our puppy and explaining his experience.
