Hi there! My name is Divija, and I am a passionate pet lover based in and around the Hague. I have over 5 years of experience caring for a variety of pets, including dogs, cats — regardless of their age, size, or breed and other small animals like birds. Many of the pictures you see in my profile are of my beloved dog, whom I cared for until she passed away in 2018. Most recently, since 2021, I have helped out several friends by doing drop-ins, cat and dog sitting while they were out and needed help with their fur babies, ensuring their fur babies received the best care possible. I speak several languages—English, Hindi, French, and a little bit of Mandarin, and am happy to speak to your pet in the language you prefer! I offer a range of services, including dog walking, pet sitting, and drop-in visits. Unfortunately, I cannot offer boarding as my building does not allow pets :((. I am comfortable administering medications and providing special care for pets with specific needs. Whether it’s a brisk walk, a cosy overnight stay, or just some midday playtime, I’m more than happy to help. My approach to pet care is all about love, safety, and fun. I treat every pet as if they were my own, providing them with plenty of affection, exercise, and mental stimulation. I am patient, attentive, and committed to ensuring your pet feels happy and secure while you're away. When I’m not taking care of pets, I enjoy exploring new languages, cooking, and spending time with friends and family. Divija is amazing with animals! She is extremely kind and patient, she always seems to know what my dog wants and needs. My rescue dog is people shy and often scared but she loves Divija. I always feel comfortable leaving them alone.

I have known her since my university days and she has been adored by my pets (a cat and a dog) since those days. My cat (dodo) in particular is relaxed around her which happens rarely. She is punctual and does not deviate from her instructions which is a blessing as my pets are accustomed to a certain schedule. I would recommend her to anyone with a cat or a dog especially those which are less trusting as she has a way to build up a rapport with them.
Divija has been an amazing pet sitter for my 6 years old tuxedo cat. He is an anxious little boy who doesn't trust strangers easily but she made him feel safe by learning and respecting his boundaries. Even though I have sought her services only twice so far, I will not hesitate to reach out to her again when I am out of town to visit my parents who are allergic to cats. Prior to being recommended Divija's services by a friend, I always had to find difficult alternatives when visiting family but now I can plan my time away without feeling so stressed. Starting soon, I will be working part-time, which allows me to have a flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of the pets in my care. For pets that require drop-in visits, I would plan my day to include timely check-ins, providing food, administering medications, and offering companionship. I schedule regular walks and playtime sessions throughout the day to ensure pets get the exercise and stimulation they need. This includes morning, midday, and evening activities. With a flexible schedule, I would ensure my evenings, middays or mornings are dedicated to making your pet feel comfortable and safe, providing them with a calm and loving environment.

Note: Unfortunately, I cannot offer boarding in my home as my building does not allow pets. How I Care for Pets in a Pet Owner's Home Pet Sitting: Routine and comfort are important so I adhere to your pet’s regular schedule to ensure minimal disruption to their routine. This includes feeding times, walks, playtime, and bedtime. Depending on the environment, I keep your home clean and safe, ensuring that your pet has a comfortable space to relax. I also ensure that their living areas are tidy and their food and water bowls are clean. I provide plenty of love and attention, making sure your pet feels secure and happy in your absence. This includes cuddles, playtime, and regular check-ins. If your pet has specific needs and needs special care, such as medication or special dietary requirements, I am diligent in meeting those needs. Scheduled Visits: I visit your home at agreed times to provide food, water, and bathroom breaks. I also offer playtime and companionship during these visits. I would also check on your pet’s overall health and well-being, looking for any signs of discomfort or illness. If I notice anything unusual, I will inform you immediately. Exercise and stimulation are key aspects to ensuring a comfortable and safe fur-baby For dogs, this includes a walk or playtime in your yard. For cats, this involves interactive play to keep them mentally stimulated. Dog Walking: I provide regular walks tailored to your dog’s energy level and needs. This includes brisk walks for active dogs and gentle strolls for senior pets. Safety First: I prioritise your pet’s safety, using secure leashes and harnesses. I also avoid high-traffic areas and other potential hazards. Attention and Care: During walks, I give your dog my full attention, ensuring they are comfortable and enjoying their time outdoors.

When caring for dogs, I prioritise activities that keep them physically active and mentally stimulated. This includes taking them on nature walks in local parks or nature trails like the Haagse Bos, where they can explore new scents and environments while getting plenty of exercise. During our outings, we engage in playful sessions of fetch, and tug-of-war to keep their energy levels up and their tails wagging. I also incorporate training games into our routine, making learning fun with interactive sessions that reinforce commands and tricks. Cats under my care enjoy a variety of engaging activities designed to cater to their natural instincts and preferences. Interactive play is a favourite, using feather wands, laser pointers, and sometimes, random household items tend to amuse them more than fancy toys to encourage movement. For cats who enjoy affection, I provide cuddle sessions and gentle petting, ensuring they receive the attention they crave. Chase and hide games are incorporated to stimulate their playful behaviour, encouraging them to pounce and explore their surroundings in a safe and enjoyable manner.
