I’m Dionna, the heart behind Close to Home. For over five years, I’ve dedicated myself to caring for animals—first as a veterinary assistant, and now through my own dog and cat boarding and walking business. My home is truly pet-friendly: dogs snooze on the couch, cuddle in bed during movie nights, and play outside in a safe, loving space. I specialize in giving each animal the kind of personalized, gentle care I’d want for my own—whether that means administering medication, trimming nails, or simply knowing when a pup needs a little extra love. When your pet stays with me, they’re treated like family—because to me, they are 🐾❤️

I’m currently working part time and soon to be a stay at home mom! I’m looking to expand my business and make dog watching/boarding and day care my full time job!

Safety, trust & environment
You’re pets safety and comfort while staying in my home is my top priority! All of my animals get along great with others! With that being said I have a whole room in my home dedicated to the care of the pets I watch! This way if you’re pet is nervous during their stay they have a nice quiet place to relax with tons of toys for both cats and dogs! Cat towers and beds of all sizes!

A typical day
My daily routine with my animals is to wake up, go potty and have some breakfast! Then we usually hang out at home for a bit and play while I get some work done. I have a fenced in back yard area so the pups can go outside and run around a bit! After that I take them on a nice long walk on a path by my townhouse! By this time I usually come home to relax and make some dinner for both me and the pups! Go on a nice walk after dinner to digest and go potty before we relax for the evening!
