Hi, I'm Des and I’m so excited to meet you and your furry (or scaley/feathery) family members! I’ve had the opportunity to work as a zookeeper at an AZA accredited zoo, where I trained a variety of animals using positive reinforcement techniques. This gave me a lot of insight into animal behavior, and the skills to handle pets of all kinds. I’m comfortable working with just about any animal you can think of. I’ve also worked as a veterinary assistant at an animal hospital where I assisted with medical procedures and cared for recovering animals. This role provided me with quick thinking skills in emergency situations and further developed my passion for the well-being of all animals. I am certified in canine/feline CPR and First Aid. Over the years I’ve adopted guinea pigs, cats, dogs, and rats of my own. I've worked as a professional dog walker and sitter previously. I enjoy hiking and camping with my two dogs, concerts, traveling, and reading. I recently went back to school to study biology and hope to continue my career working with animals. Your pets will receive all the love, attention, and care they deserve from me while you’re away!
