Pet care experience

Loving your pets like you would!

I have 20+ years experience as a veterinary technician, receptionist and manager, as well over 14+ years as a pet-sitter, and a lifetime of personal pets. I can provide nail trims, administer subcutaneous fluids, oral and injectable medications and insulin, on reasonably cooperative pets. I regularly attend voluntary continuing education in veterinary medicine, as well as read up on current topics in pet care. I'm very observant, attentive and meticulous. I believe in treating your pets like I would my own and leaving things better than I found them. I am comfortable handling both dogs and cats and most pocket pets, such as mice, rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, etc. I am now a RN with a recently obtained BSN from UT Health Science Center San Antonio, and I also hold a BS in Biology (Ecology, Evolution, and Conservation) from UT Austin - I'm thoughtful, efficient, resourceful, reliable, honest, and patient, as well as outdoorsy and athletic, so I like playing and walking. I'd love to provide you peace of mind, and make being away from your pet easier!

Demetria is great she took time out of her day to check my dogs when she did not have to do it. She is great and the best sitter we had.

I am so lucky to have found someone so amazing to walk my puppy Moose! Demetria went above and beyond for Moose! She was amazing at communicating and allowed a meet and greet before our official booking to make sure Moose and I were both comfortable and at ease. She sent lots of pictures which made me feel really happy about how Moose was being treated! She also left a really thorough summary of their walk. As someone that feels so bad leaving my dog, Demetria sure made me feel at ease! I cannot say more good things! She went above and beyond!! You can tell she truly loves dogs and will treat your own furry friend like her own!

I find it helpful to know if a pet has any particular behaviors or medical issues of note, such as insect or food allergies; propensities for putting inappropriate things in their mouths, chasing squirrels, cats, delivery trucks, etc; specific fears, such as fireworks, bikes, larger dogs, men, baseball caps, etc. It's also helpful to know if your pets are diabetic, have joint issues, current or repaired cruciate tears, luxating patellas, missing limbs, (spine) back or neck issues, etc. and/ or may require special handling and attentiveness with exercise. I'd also like to know what excites your pet(s) and makes him/ her happiest. What thrills them? I want to make sure your pets receive the best experience and care for their specific needs.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
