Pet care fits very naturally into my daily routine because I have a flexible schedule that allows me to dedicate time and attention to the pets I care for. I plan my days so that walks, feeding times, playtime, and check-ins are done consistently and on schedule.

About delilah f.

Safety, trust & environment

When caring for pets in my home or a client’s home, my priority is making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while maintaining their normal routine as much as possible. I carefully follow the owner’s instructions for feeding schedules, medications (if needed), potty breaks, and exercise so their pet experiences as little disruption as possible. In my home, I provide a calm, clean, and pet-friendly environment where pets can relax, play, and receive lots of attention. I make sure they have a comfortable place to rest, regular potty breaks, supervised playtime, and plenty of affection. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I treat their space with the same respect I would my own. I stick closely to the pet’s usual routine, provide walks and playtime, keep food and water fresh, and make sure the home stays tidy. I also provide updates and photos so owners can feel reassured that their pets are happy and well cared for while they’re away. My goal is always to make pets feel loved, safe, and stress-free while their owners are gone.

Information delilah f. would like to know about your pet

Before caring for a pet, it’s important for me to know a few key details to make sure I provide the best and safest care possible. I like to learn about the pet’s daily routine, feeding schedule, and any dietary restrictions or allergies. I also ask about medications, medical conditions, or special care instructions. It’s helpful to know their personality and behavior as well—whether they are shy, energetic, anxious around new people, or if they have any triggers such as loud noises or other animals. I also like to know their favorite activities, toys, and how they usually behave on walks. For safety, I ask about vaccination status, whether they are comfortable around other pets or children, and if they have any history of aggression. Emergency contact information and the name of their veterinarian are also very helpful to have on file. Having this information ahead of time allows me to keep pets safe, comfortable, and happy while providing owners with peace of mind.

A typical day

A typical day with the pets I care for is centered around keeping them happy, comfortable, and active. We usually start the day with a potty break and some fresh air, followed by feeding and a little playtime to get their energy out. Throughout the day I make sure they get plenty of attention, walks, and enrichment based on their personality and needs. For fun activities, I love doing things like neighborhood walks, playing fetch or tug-of-war, interactive toys and treat puzzles, and lots of cuddles and belly rubs for pets who enjoy affection. If the pet enjoys it, we may also spend time relaxing outside, exploring new smells on a walk, or practicing simple commands for mental stimulation. My goal is always to make pets feel safe, loved, and entertained while their owners are away, and to keep their routine as normal as possible.
