I work a remote job that allows for flexibility in hours giving me plenty of availability for pet care. I am able to take a smaller number of walks and drop in visits during the week still and of course am available on weekends.

When caring for pets in their own home safety, comfort, and routines are top of mind. I aim to provide consistency of care so want to slide into the routine you already have with your pets. I do not offer boarding in my home since my own dog is dog selective and will always remain at my home during bookings.

A typical day
I’m a big believer in mental as well as physical exercise. While on walks giving them time and space to sniff. In the home simple enrichment like lick mats or snuffle mats can be great mental exercise and working on flirt pole skills to engage pets in some mock stalking and hunting. It always depends on the pets personality and interests because they are individuals with some preferring pets over play.

I am truly an animal lover and enjoy the opportunity to spend time with and continually learn from a variety of pets. I have been pet sitting for 8 years, had my own dog for 7 years and grew up with two family dogs. I have also volunteered as a dog walker at Austin Pets Alive getting the chance to spend time with dogs of all types and behaviors. Clients, neighbors and friends have entrusted me with the care of their pets and homes which I take quite seriously. I require a meet and greet prior to a first booking to ensure it is the right fit all around. I understand there is individuality in each pet and the manner of their care so I’m always asking questions to better understand both the pets and owners personality and needs.

Deanna did an excellent job taking care of our dog. She dealt with his weird quirks, and he seemed very happy about staying with her. She also went above and beyond to leave the house cleaner than she found it.
Deanna house sat for 3 nights, taking care of my dog and cat. She sent us ample updates throughout the day and our pets seem very happy to be with her!
