Pet care experience
I am a great option if your animal(s) suffer from separation anxiety or you WFH so your pet is used to having someone around during the day as I can be there for them during the day and night so they don't get anxious or lonely. My two priorities are to make your animals as comfortable and stress-free as possible and for you to be able to enjoy your time away knowing your pets are getting excellent care and your home is in great hands. I have experience with a wide array of dogs with differing temperaments, ranging from puppies to elderly dogs. I also have extensive experience walking and sitting for rescue dogs that need specialized care, especially when it comes to walks. I am very attuned into each individual dog's personality and needs and provide specialized care for each dog. I have experience with leash training, behavioral issues and how to handle them, along with administering medication either by pill or needle injections. I have always owned my own cats up until I lost my soul kity last October after almost 20 years and have so much experience with cats of all ages, personalities and needs, including administering medication via a pill pusher, inhaler and via needle. I absolutely love cats and give them so much attention when either doing drop-ins or pet sitting for them and even the shyest cats end up feeling comfortable with my presence and will come to me for pets and snuggles. I respect the boundaries set by the cat, as anyone who owns a cat, knows that cats make their own rules 🙂. If hired to house sit for you, I can provide 24 hour attention, only leaving for the occasional trip to the grocery store/gym or a quick errand and am a great pick if your animal suffers from separation anxiety or is used having their family around all the time, as I will be there for your pet consistently. Also, I pride myself on leaving your home cleaner than how you left it so you can have the stress-free experience of coming home from a trip to a clean house and happy animals.

We could not be more pleased with the in-home dog sitting services we received from Deanna! From the moment I met Deanna at our initial meet-and-greet, I knew our sweet pup (basically our fourth child) would be in excellent hands. Her attention to the small details, thorough communication, dependability and general safety measures were top notch. She gave 100% of her attention to our girl for the entire week including daily walks, grooming and lots of snuggles. Deanna even alerted us to a water leak and helped us resolve the problem before it became a major disaster. Deanna did a great job taking care of our shy cat. Her warm presence allowed my cat to feel comfortable enough to come out and they were able to bond. She gave great updates and was super flexible when an unexpected maintenance problem occurred. And my apartment was left spotless!! Will definitely be reaching out to Deanna again!

When providing house sitting I'm there for your pets comfort so if their routine is to sleep in the bed with their owners then they'll sleep in the bed with me (with client approval). I stick to the pets routine so that any anxiety or stress that they feel from having their owners away is lessened and of course give them lots of love, cuddles and exercise. When walking a dog, regardless of that dog's temperament, if I see another dog heading towards us I always either cross to the other side of the street or path or turn around so that there is no risk of a bad interaction. I do not take clients pups to dog parks or any area where there might be unleashed dogs for your dog's safety. I have years of practice with training dogs to walk on a leash without dragging the walker along and instead walk side by side with me which makes for a more enjoyable walk for the dog and the walker.

I have a lot of experience with pets that have special needs, are extremely hyper, experience separation anxiety, etc. I am very comfortable with all types of dog and cat personalities and very competent in the care that I can give them. Knowing beforehand any behavioral issues, medications your pet(s) are on, your fur babies favorite spots to be petted are all great things to know so I can provide your animals with the absolute best care possible! Also knowing your pet's normal routine in terms of what time they get up and go to bed are great to know as I will adjust my sleep schedule to fit your pets routine with absolute minimal disruption.
A typical day
A typical day depends on what your dogs needs are. If you have a very energetic dog I would love to take them on a long walk or a hike. For dogs that prefer a more laid-back sitter experience, they can expect lots of attention, cuddles and pets. Your cats can expect either lots of love and pets if they like that or If they're more of a shy cat, I will make them as comfortable as possible with my presence and make sure that they are extremely well taken care of. Though honestly in all my years of pet sitting, I've never had a cat that didn't end up enjoying my company 🙂. Since pet sitting/dog walks)drop ins is my only job, you can expect your pets to be lovingly watched over and never having to endure being left alone for very long (usually on short house sitting trips I don't even end up leaving the house!).

Availability
I have open availability as this is my career so I can work with short notice requests, short and long-term house/pet sitting, daily dog walking needs/drop ins or kitty check in visits (which even though I'm booked for a 30-minute visit, I always stay longer when I can because I absolutely love animals) and can easily accommodate your needs schedule wise. Booking meet and greets with me is a breeze because I can work with your schedule as opposed to us trying to find a time that works for us both. For clients that book me several months in advance, I offer an initial meet and greet right away just so that you can meet me and see how I do with your animals and then offer a second meet and greet closer to your trip to go over things again and to go over the house stuff because sometimes a lot can change in a couple months. I find it advantageous to the client to not have to jam everything into one meet and greet if possible when their trip is farther out.
